I have to fork out another two hundred bucks for a new one. And I don't have it.
Doesn't it bother you that you forked over $200 bucks for a phone and your carrier can't be bothered to release new code made available to them that fixes bugs?

I don't mind lying to RIM or Rogers ;)

Yeah, I guess it doesn't bother me as much as I thought, because I just did it. I like the new OS over all. I don't really notice that much that's different. I like the seperate SMS/email inboxes, but I might end up changing it back. Not sold on that one yet. The new calculator is cool, but more eye candy than anything else. And I still notice the delay when browsing through images. Other than that, not a whole lot changed, did it? I initially didn't like the fact that the menu icons showed up in rows instead of a column, but it's growing on me.

The update went very smoothly and actually faster than I expected. I even installed the other themes, but I don't really like any of them. The original T-Mobile Zen is still my favorite.

The only problem I had was with Google Talk. Why can't that program stay installed? Every time I update anything, I have to reinstall it. Not a big deal, but still.

You eventually have to reboot your Berry. One way to get out of it was to call your Berry so that you can get to the phone log and then you can toggle out. You still need to reboot to resolve though.

Anyone else have this issue?

Is anyone having this issue? as well as the other issue i have been running into is that my memory card disapears. and the phone defaults to the pre-loaded ringers a battery pull fixes the problem i have found to be very annoything as i use my ring tones to determine who is calling with assigned ringers.

Let me know if anyone else is having this problem as well!?!?!

Well, this means that there was a problem when you tried to upgrade.
There is some guide but i can't find it. So i will briefly describe:
1. Download your old OS, install it on your lappy.
2. Get the device, remove the battery.
3. Run desktop manager, plug your BB to your PC - you will notice that the led will starts to glow red
4. Run application loader, you might see the PIN of your device, if not click on connect, until you get at least UNKNOWN.
5. Click Next -> it will erase the rest of OS in the device.
6. Once it will wait for Device initialization, insert battery.
7. It should go thru the rest of the process.

*** DO NOT UNPLUG THE DEVICE FROM YOUR LAPTOP AT ANY TIME ***

I will try to find out the guide, but in any case, feel free to contact me.

EDITED: I just found that, it's on PINSTACK, hope that no one will kill me
It's in FAQ, Device troubleshooting - How to reinstall OS when computer won't recognize the device

I started noticing the same problem on mine with my Garmin device and bluetooth. The problem I had was that I had created a couple of "groups" in my address book on my phone, which your GPS does not like when trying to transfer your address book.

Go in and delete any groups you have on your phone and it should take care of the error message.

Does anyone have problems downloading applications (.jad's) with this OS? About 70% of the time, my downloads fail. Trying to put Telenav took about 5 tries. I went back to 4.2.0.64 and everything downloads the first time around.

I've tried and no problems. Did you try to restart the device? Sometimes this is caused by hanging connection, as GPRS/EDGE is not very bulletproof service.

I updated versions. My Wayfinder 6 application quit working. It would just freeze upon load. All other apps worked fine. Rolling back installation, because I spent a lot of money on this app.

I tried reinstalling the app to no avail.

Slow loading pictures, but everything else works great on my Red AT&T Pearl. I love the Rogers zen theme! Now if I could only get the keyboard and chin piece from the Rogers pearl, I'd be in business!

Wirelessly posted (BlackBerry8100/4.2.1 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/100)

Has anyone else noticed reduced reception after the update? It seems like I'm having trouble getting signal in areas where I usually get at least one bar...

Default Anyone Notice?

Ever since I installed this firmware the phone has been working a lot faster - except that it no longer puts messages in queue to be sent when I don't have service - they just all fail to send.

Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated

Hi, new here! Just installed new software and was wondering:

How do I sync with more than one computer. I installed new OS at work and have pearl hooked up to home computer as well. When connected to home computer it does not recognize it or sync. Any help would be great.
