A good way to start would be to search this forum for the type BB you have and the term Ringtones. Then read though the resulting threads. Remember, Search is Your Friend!
To be able to help, we need to know more about your BB. Which one and what OS version.

Hope this helps.

Hello all.

I'm on a 7100i, and I've visited the luciano site and the adamdaley site. When I try to download any file I get the following error:

HTTP Error 406: Not Acceptable

The page you are trying to load is not supported by the browser. Please try loading a different page.

I've seen a few other posts about the same thing, but didnt see the solution to it (if any).

Any ideas? Do I need to upgrade anything? As far as I can tell from checking, I'm running the latest OS.

I'm pretty sure you can't download ringtones to the 7100i.

Default 71400i

7100i only seems to like midi ringtones. Look for those with the .mid extension.

ahhh ok, i'm still learning

I guess I can live with midi tones for now, but i miss my super mario brothers tune from my last phone (the very first mario). what's the easiest way to get these midi tones to my phone? I emailed them to my BB as an attachment, but I cant seem to "read" the attachment

Default Alright 406 Error

Alright I've got a VZW 7130e that SHOULDN'T be getting a 406 error and SHOULD work with Luciano's site and the Adam Daily (Sp) but DOESN'T... I just read EVERY single post and so far I've been able to download 1 bad 24 CTU ring tone (doesn't sound close to the real thing)... So I meet the requirements to be inquiring 71 series!

It is simple, clean and quick loading because there is no fluff. You can upload from your PC and then download from your BB to get your personal ringtones on your BB with little trouble.
There doesn't seem to be a blackberry folder any more. Only Nokia.

Just want to try to summarize a solution to the MIDI/Audio player issue here.

On my 7290 on T-Mo -- the T-Mo browser does NOT have a Save option in the Audio player. If you use the BB Browser, it does have the Save option and it can be used to save MIDI files.

Someone gave me this info and it worked like a charm

"This works on my TELUS branded 7130e, but might work on other 71xx.

Get a mp3 file that you want, 15-30secs is ok.
encode the file: (i use cool edit pro)
16-24kbs, 16000Hz Mono (haven't try higher settings)
save the mp3 file and uploaded it here (should be less than 512k)

http://www.coolservice.dk/en/compatibilities.php

use your bb browser to get the file, play it then save.
it works on my 7130e, and never bother changing it to adp files."

Herein lies the problem. Too many people dont read the thread and post the same questions over and over. The people who can help, dont seem to want to answer questions. I have asked and I read at least 6 others that have asked the same question. In the audio player, you click on the third button, BUT THERE IS NO SAVE OPTION!!! There is a save to messages option, but not just SAVE! Is there anyone that can answer this question with a real resolution???? That would be nice. An email response to [email address] would be great too!

Wirelessly posted (7130e VZW: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry7130e/4.1.0 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/105)

Here's the answer (which is provided any number of times in this thread): it depends on your model and service provider as to what your BlackBerry can and can't do. For example, I have a 7130e, which is technically capable of sending and receiving MMS messages. But, Verizon took that feature out of all its phones without cameras. So, it is likely that either your model isn't capable of saving that type of audio file or your provider has determined you don't need that functionality.

I have read all through this thread (I think i didn't miss anything)

But I haven't seen a way to save an MP3 or wav or wmp into a midi for a 7100i, does someone have a program that will do this, I truly hate organ music and seems my adobe audition won't save into a midi, or is this not possible?

Let me know if someone has any idea on how to turn normal music into a midi file that can be saved as a ringtone, or did I miss something in this thread?
