I just installed the new version over the old. Seems to be working just fine. You do get a prompt asking you to confirm you are replacing the one on the unit.

OTA. I don't have the DM installed on my home PC.

I'm having a problem assigning speed dial keys in PocketDay. I was able to set the first two I wanted without any difficulty, but now when I try to add more - the choice to set as speed dial is no longer present. When I select set speed dial it takes me to the address book. When I select the address I want there is no option appearing to make it the speed dial setting.

I'm using 2.1 which I just upgraded to - but the issue was also present in 2.05

Default Yet another random question

I've been using the yahoo abbrevations for stocks. Worked fine until I asked for Dow Jones and NASDAQ. What are the proper PocketDay abbrevations for these things?

Search came up empty for me on this one.

wvmd,

You must have an email address for the contact in order to set the speeddial number. It's a flaw in the RIM software.

dulcamera...the DJIA is %5eDJI and the NASDAQ is %5EIXIC (the %5E is the ^, but use %5E). For future reference, PocketDay uses Yahoo Finance, so you can look up the symbols there.

I also use the "^", but some people have issues with it. It may be a carrier / network thing.

Will PocketDay work with Mutual Funds or just Stocks? I have entered some mutual funds and get nothing.

PocketDay uses yahoo finance. If you can find a symbol for it there it may work, although I've never tried it.

The Fidelity funds are there. For example, Magellian is FMAGX.

The mutual funds I listed are on the finance.yahoo.com site, but they are listed under mutual funds rather than stocks. I just just tried to list a stock symbol and the PocketDay doesn't give me anything but the date & time. What did I do wrong?

I tried changing the stock symbol and went back to check MY STOCKS and received the following message:

java.io.IOException: Bad DNS Address

HELP!

Dusty,

Is the weather working? It sounds like you don't have the communications setup properly. What BlackBerry model, OS version and cell carrier are you using?

Mark,

The weather appears to be working fine. I can change locations and get the right data. I am using the Blackberry 7250 on Verizon.

Stocks are formatted as follows: sym+sym+sym

are you using the "+" sign in between the symbols. For the 7250 there are no comms settings you need to change.

Do you have an email address associated with that contact. I know that in 2.05, you had to have an email address for the speed dial to recognize it.

Yes, I'm using the + sign between symbols and I still get the Java IO exception - Bad DMS address. After I refresh the stock, the error message disappears and the time gets refreshed, but no stock info.

Sometimes this can happen if you have any odd characters (like ^) in the symbol name. Any odd characters?
