It's funny that everyone is into full-body protection. I can see doing the screen, but the full body? Do you really scratch them up that bad? Mine have always stayed pretty darn free of scratches, except for the 2 times I dropped my 7230, and I don't think a thin skin would've helped that.

Besides, I upgrade to the latest/greatest device so quickly, I barely have time to scratch it up. My 7100t was purchased the day they came out. It doesn't have a scratch on it, except for minor ones on the face because I was too lazy to get a screen protector. And I'm about to give it up in a few weeks for the 8700g. (I do have some Screen Patronus protectors on order for it, but am not going to do full body).

Just interesting.

I hear ya Fireproof.

Even as I was installing the back pieces I was thinking to myself, is this really needed?

I'm starting to think that since my 8700c is so stuffed full of dust I should just ditch the screen one too. That way I can just beat it up even more and that'll justify me buying myself a new unit.

LOL! A man after my own heart - I do all kinds of justification/rationalization for my new toys.

But with the new leather case coming to me, that will offer even better protection beyond the plastic holster.

Precision Cut for a perfect fit the first time, every time. Keep the scratch in your wallet... and off your stuff."

The best part? Only $6.99

You can have a look at it here

Got mine yesterday and left my 8700 alone for 24 hours like instructed. Although it was a very akward and clueless day for me to be without my BB, seeing the end result is definitely worth it.

Although like others, I was pretty paranoid about the actual application of it... I just went for it. The first piece is over the screen which I re-wet 2 or 3 times to get it just right. The rest came pretty easy although I did have to hold down the bottom piece for about a minute so the flaps would stay down.

It looks great now!

they have one for the 8700 and the 8700c-- is there a difference?

Which would one use with the Rogers 8700? it's the 8700r, isn't it?

You should know that best skins and shield zone sell the same product. Shield zone has a much better web site, guarantees free replacements for life, even if you send the product in for repair and is much more customer friendly. Best skins offers none of this, but sells the product for rougnly 25% of the shield zone price. I opted for Best Skins and ahve been completely satisfied - bought skins for the BB, IPod and a Razr.

I picked up the full body kit for my 8700c. While I was a little apprehensive about spilling water all over my BB, it's really not that bad if you're careful. I recommend that you fully immerse the shield in the soapy water (without letting go of it so you keep track of which side is down), then you shake off the excess water before applying it to your BB. The protector will still be wet enough to move around, and there probably won't be enough liquid to damage your BB. I did the above, then blotted with a towel, then carefully placed the protector and squeezed out the bubbles.

It looks amazing (girlfriend couldn't even tell there was a protector on it, she just thought it looked shinier than usual) and thus far is adhering perfectly even with quite intensive use in conjunction with the stock holster (my leather case still hasn't arrived yet.)

2 last notes. Even the full body kit doesn't actually completely cover the BB. The sides of the BB are not covered, nor are the right and left edges of the front of the BB. Minor gripe though, the important parts are pretty much covered. The other thing is that depending on how well you treat your BB and how likely it is to be scratched, it may be a good idea to go with the company that provides lifetime replacements. I'm not sure how their replacement policy works and whether or not it's really as easy as requesting a new set because the old one is damaged.

Finally, if you make these things and you're reading it, you should include a diagram of which piece goes where and number the various pieces on the backing sheet. Also, it is a little difficult to remove the excess material from the backing sheet.

Overall, great product, even if it is a little difficult to apply!

They're the same material but cut differently. "Best" has fewer, larger pieces that actually wrap the top and bottom of the 8700 and are easier to handle.

I tried both and will stick to "Best" although I wish they'd both cover the sides.

lol.. I bought these for my 8700 a couple of weeks ago. Great product but wasn't a perfect fit on my 8700r (slightly different design on Roger's 8700r where the nameplate is as compared with the 8700c)-- but that's another story altogether...

Anyway I had some unauthorized activity on my VISA recently and when I called my bank to go through transactions, I was very embarassed when we got to "best skins ever".. I had to explain that it wasn't as it appeared. he responded with, "we've seen it al, sir- not to worry".

I'm assuming you have rogers 8700r....

in theory, it should be pretty damn close, but there's an awkward part of the screen which causes a less than perfect fit. Mainly at the nameplate at the bottom and in the top left hand corner of the front/screen area just below the metallic rim. I noticed this as well when I had it next to a friend's 8700c. it's not huge but you;ll need to adjust it slightly for this problem.

Otherwise it's a pretty good fit. ut the top section desn't work at all. There isn't a cut out for the LED so it bubbles over this section and you can't smooth it out.

I actually ended up removing all of the skins aftera couple of days. It's not that I was dissatisfied with it, but rather I just wasn't spectacularly satisfied. It's a subjective point of view., Many swear behind this product. I find it to be a god product with good customer service, but just not for me.

Great review!

Am I correct to assume that these are going to be a slight mis-fit on the 8700g from t-mobile.

Does anybody know of skins that will fit the 8700g properly?
