Getting back to the original question. There are instructions for taking apart a 8330 that you can find on some site. Why don't you buy a used 8330 on ebay and swap the parts?

i need help. my friend gave me his friends old curve
and when i turn it on it goes straight to saying jvc error 513.
what do i do??

Folks, please read the thead before you reply. You are replying to an issue that's already been solved. Just for the record, there are instructions on this forum for disassembly of the Curve.
