I had no trouble installing the program on a TMO 8700g.
Is your BlackBerry supplied to you by the company that you work for? It's possible that they place restrictions on the type of connections you can make from your BlackBerry.

It has door to door navigation. Just like telenav. As far as GPS locating. No it doesn't. I am more interseted in the navigation.

For me, this works EXACTLY the same as google local, no different. Waste of a download for me.

Does Google Maps use GPS to figure out where I am?
Google Maps doesn't use any GPS technology, even if your phone has a built in GPS location device.

I just downloaded Google Maps, and now I have two different versions of the application on my phone: Google Maps, and Google Local. Do I need both of them?
No. In fact, we recommend you keep Google Maps, and delete Google Local.

Okay, call me crazy, but I already have this. However, it doesn't immediately know where I am. I know this because I was using it in downtown Dallas yesterday. So at my home (far North Dallas) I open it up today and it still shows me yesterday. There's no method of telling it to locate me.
This is a great little application, and I love having it, but it only works if you know where you are to start with.

No I bought it off ebay. But it did have an IT Policy on it that didn't let it make the kind of connections I mentioned.

I agree--"Maps" doesn't appear to offer any additional functionality over Google Local.
I did the upgrade anyway, as Maps is version 1.2.0 versus Local which is version 1.1.0; perhaps some fixes have been introduced? Although I can't say I ever had a problem with "local"--it's an extremely powerful application which I use often.

Everything works fine except the tracking feature. Maybe it doesn't do tracking. I can't find where I got that ideal.

Google Local 1.1.0 was a real battery hog on my BB 7520.
it looks like Google Maps 1.2.0 has some minor fixes, battery does not drain as quickly, but still an unscientific observation. Google Maps now displays the total kb transferred for the session

There is no tracking. Google does not know where you are.

from www.mobiframe.com, HelloWorld GPS, it is a free blackberry app that does track your location. You will need a GPS enabled BB
its a little slower and more data intensive than google maps

Please help, how did you manage to have it working on your BB7520? I am on BES and 4.1 -- never got it to work. :(

Alright, looks like there was a little confusion on my part. It appears as though GMaps caches your last search location.
Therefore, if you search another business (eg. Pizza), it will use the previous location as the starting point. My apologies if I caused any confusion.
It's still a wicked app!!
