Just say thank you to the massive influx of consumer blackberry users. Corporate customers are just another BB user anymore. They sell prob. 5 to 1 BB's to "consumer" customerrs than "prosumners" anymore. I dont think its at all a bad thing until long term customers are affected. Keep the faith "J" as time goes on the markets always change, and sometimes even the attitudes.

verizon calls are clearer than any of the US GSM carriers. CDMA technology actually has better voice quality and will maintain that quality no matter what the signal strength is. you can make a perfectly clear conversation using 1 bar on Verizon's network...try to do that with T-Mobile or ATT Wireless. you won't get a crystal clear conversation. it's not t-mobile's fault or ATT's...it's GSM. that's just how it is. CDMA really is a much better technology, and it's ashame GSM has become the standard.

if CDMA has SIM cards, then CDMA really would be superior over GSM

Are you sure you have your facts straight on GSM versus CDMA technology? I implore you to start with informed articles such as:

Review on GSM Mobile Technology Vs CDMA Mobile Technology by kspv - MouthShut.com

...and paying attention to the details such as "CDMA technology has a Soft Accommodation feature, that is, when the number of users of the network goes up, the voice quality progressively gets poorer."

Quite the opposite, a GSM network maintains the same voice quality no matter what the 'bars' are, whereas a CDMA network adjusts the audio bitrate downwards in lower signal areas. I think where you may be confused is that because of the previous sentence's tech, if a GSM loses signal - boom, you're done. CDMA however can keep you connected for a call with a weaker signal of lesser quality due to it's bitrate adaptive nature.

I noticed this right off the bat when I switched from CDMA to GSM a few years ago. If I have one bar on GSM I am good to go (slightly lower volume.) On CDMA I could have 2 or 3 bars and and have a really bad connection.
