Yeah, except that people forget about electrostatic discharge. The damage from the escreen is recoverable, since its software damage, been there done that. Damage to hardware, either by esd or mishandling isnt recoverable unless its taken directly to rim or if its a damage to the lcd or other minor parts.
Not everyone has a lot of common sense, believe me. People get more nervous taking the phone apart than by using the escreen.
It all comes down to one factor, how good the person is in following procedures.
