These Earglove phones are great -- they fit in your ear very well and have very good bass response. I have 'Aquasky - What Can You Do' blasting now, it's a raggamuffin track with lots of bass, thump, guitar and vocals and it all sounds pretty darn good. It's no Sennheiser quality (the midrange is a bit muffled) but it will definitely do!

Another nice thing about these Earglove buds is that you can remove that stupid over-ear plastic thing on each side and just use them as regular buds. I can never get those over ear thingies on right, they're such a pain.

Hey,

I lost my crappy OEM headset and need to pick up some new ones. Does the Earglove activate Voice Dialing when you hold the button like the OEM headset too???

And about the ROKR headset. Does the Voice Dialing work on that? I would assume the Voice Dialing doesn't but you never know!

I have the same Body Glove as the guy above. Built in 2.5mm 4 pole connector with mic and everything. Plugs right into the 8800 but I get no sound in the left. Today I'm not getting sound in the left earphone on either of my 8800's so I'm going to try getting a replacement from Best Buy.

Stopped by the cingy store and they didn't have anything in the store I could test it out with. Lots of 2.5mm headphones but nothing know to work with the 8100 or 8800.

I do a lot of jogging and having to carry only 1 device with me was one of the main selling points for the 8800. So far everything is great. If I can just get sound out of both sides of a decent comfortable set of headphones with a mic and answer button I'll be set for awhile.
Does anyone know why a 'standard' 2.5mm 4 pole headphone would not work on a BlackBerry?

Here's the actual product:
B O D Y G L O V E

It's natively a 4-pole 2.5mm plug, and comes with an adapter to 3.5mm for a normal MP3 player. It's actually designed for a MP3 phone first, it lists several models on the packaging.

I'm not sure if the voice dialing works on it or not, because I never use voice dialing. Everything else works like the stereo OEM headset, so I would assume if it works on the OEM headset, then it will work on the ROKR.

Like I say, you can pick up a pair of the ROKRs on ebay for $7.99, shipping included. It's worth it, even if you wind up getting another unit down the road.

I bought a 3.5mm to 2.5mm converter that has a 4-pole 2.5mm plug and it didn't work on my Pearl. I'm not sure why, but when I compared the 2.5mm plug on the converter to 2.5mm plugs that do work on my pearl, there is a MINISCULE difference towards the tip of the plug. I'm not sure if anyone else has also experienced this, but it seems like not all 2.5mm 4-pole plugs work in the BB.

Essentially none of the 2.5/3.5 units will work except the Seidio unit, that's been well documented for awhile. I had some Jabra unit that worked, but sounded crappy and cost $40, what a waste. I took it back. Seidio has ones with mics as well, but you all know that right? There's nothing like your trusty old headphones IMO.

Red face

About the voice dialing you can find out by holding down the answer key... Can you test it and let me know?
