Yes, i would love to have a Cradle for my Pearl. I'd rather have it on a cradle and sync/charge, instead of it laying around on my desk....
oh by the way.. axim sucks..
I own an Axim X50V. i will never go with axims / dell pdas. (no wonder then got out of pda business) b/c after an year, the screen does not respond correctly. If i press on "Start" something else opens up....
i called support, all they tell me is, hard reset//flash the rom. did all that. same thing happens... i wish the screen worked properly.. i wanted a PDA GPS.. to fix it on my car...
also, the part that goes inside the pda when its on cradle.... got sunk in the cradle... so not my Axim does not sync nor charge... useless..
but the performance was sick. I've never seen any PDA that provides 624mhz of processor speed. I loved it, until the screen started going wackoo... don't know why.

For the power and charge part, is it possible to make it so that when the pearl is fully charged, the power will turn off automatically so it wont over charge the battery? much like igo unversal car cargers.

If it were something that would power and allow for synch with PC, I would buy one for sure. I agree too that it would need to allow for 8100's using a skin (which I got yesterday from Seidio and love). I would buy one for sure.

The Blackberry stops charging itself off so the battery won't overcharge. Notice when it's done, the charge indicator disappears.

You can do the sync function with the cable that comes with 8100 while it is in the desktop cradle.

If what ever cradle only uses the two back contacts, it will only charge the device. I do not see it playing music and syncing using the same two contacts on the back used for charging.
I would like to see a cradle for charging to just drop the device in before you go to bed.

It is not possible to sync through the gold contacts on the back. Those contacts go straight to the battery.

Has anybody tried to sync with BlueTooth? I thought that was possible, but I did not try it. If I had this cradle and did not want to plug in a sync cable (USB cable), I would set it up to sync with BlueTooth.
USB BlueTooth adapters are cheap. I used to use it with my Motorola v600 to access photos and ringtones.

I sync via bluetooth and love it. I like the cradle and hopefully it is very stable in the cradle so when working in the office I could dial, etc.
Come out with a car cradle that charges and I will be in heaven!!!
