It seems like a scam...I bought the program off of smartphone.net. In bad English they said they would send send my registration key once I send my pin.

It came from i-softwarelabs [iberrysupport@hotmail.com]
How you get your key can vary depending on the site where you purchased it. Larger online merchants (e.g. Handango) can generate a key for you based on your PIN "on the fly" and the merchant can email it to you even before you've finished downloading. Other merchants might not have that ability. I haven't used smartphone.net so I don't know. But in a case where the merchant can't generate the key for you, generally when you purchase the software, an email notification is sent to the author, who then may have to ask you for your PIN if the merchant didn't do so or include that in the notification to the author, who then generates your key and sends it to you.

That hotmail address for him is legit. Also, yes -- I would imagine he's from overseas somewhere and English isn't his native language.

Thank you very much, the email was legit indeed, I guess I was just being a tad bit paranoid, but maybe thats why I run this software in the first place!

A question for Black and Whitelist:

For unknown and private numbers I have the settings on "blocked" and it goes straight to voicemail. I have seen an argument here that this basically is the same thing as "hitting" ignore on your phone.

On their website they said depending on your phone configuration you can have it set to have an incoming blocked or private number hear endless silence when they call or an endless "busy" tone. How can I configure those features? I would rather have that then to have it go straight to voicemail which isn't really what I call "blocking".

I hope you didn't pay much for the application.

For the most part it seems just like the "Exception" capability that I currently use under the profiles on the Blackberry. There are thos people I dont want to hear from so I set their contact info to 'silent'. Because I have ATT and I have the 'Answer tones' i have a message just for them that says that the number is disconnected... havent gotten a call back from anyone on that group since ;-P
Evil, I know.....

Just got an update from the publisher:

In future release, around end of this month, I've add reject action that you can select keep ringing, hang up + disconnecting, reject immediately which actually effect endless busy tone.

Don't miss to upgrade to that.

Yeah! I'd passed on to the author what some of us were looking for (not to go to voicemail) a couple weeks ago; and he said he would work on it. At that time, he'd had limited success with pickup/hangup -- but that he had some ideas (like keep ringing looks like one).

When I saw that he'd released an Aug 17 version yesterday, I checked it out but these features weren't in there yet.

I just got this great program a few days ago and have caught up with software updates list. I will be looking at downloading the upgrade as soon as it comes out. Klotar, thanks for checking with the author (does he post here?), I'll be looking forward to the next update that will have these tools.

Sorry to ask but where can I download 1.27? I see Softpedia has it now but other sites such as the following still have 1.25 listed:

BlackBerryToday: Software: Utilities: Black & Whitelist
Black & Whitelist on Smartphone.net

I got 1.27 on Handango.

The author does have a useraccount here but other than an introductory post some time ago, I haven't seen him post since.

I wish it would completely reject them and not give them the option for voicemail. This is the only thing stopping me from pulling my wallet out and buying this. Could this be a future option? I know that the program is device-specific (meaning it just creates selective ringing for selected numbers) and not something that can go hand in hand with your service to prevent voicemails.

Maybe if those in the blacklist would get muted ringtone, and the program automatically answers and hangs up the call immediately to prevent any voicemail and give them a hint at the same time?

If you read the past few posts in this thread where we have talked about it, features such as the caller hearing an endless ringing, busy tone, or other things with it not going to voice mail will be added to the program in a new update at the end of the month.

Ahh ok. That sounds like a good update!
I'll be on the lookout for it.

I'm 'Black & Whielist' developer.
As some customers heard about its features via email, I not list it here again but will announce those features on release date 3/September/2007.

I have to change application name to 'i,Call Manager' because 'black & white list' name is not make sense when I want to add features (in the future after this release) like record conversation, answering machine, disconnect out going call, prohibit out going call, forward call scheduler, etc…

80% of the features are from your requests and suggestions and always welcome, because you know what you want (and I know how to develop :p )

These sound very exciting! Thanks for the update and news.

Lowrider, my GUESS is that upgrades would be free based on the policy for B&W List even though the name changes, but of course it'd be up to the author.

thats a good question; i hope so cause i bought it yesturday morning. i had berry blocker and they have fell off the face of this earth. i haven't seen a new version or anything; their not even on handango website nomore. so i bought black&white list. it works very well. about the same as berry blocker. i wonder if they are the makers of berry blocker with a new name; this would be better than just giving everbody and software update. cause berrry blocker kept freezing my 8800; and the guy never responded back with an update when i emailed him about the problem. just a thought.

I interpret the author's post to mean that the next version in 4 days will still be Black & Whitelist, but the versions after that will have the new name.

In any event, yeah -- I'm looking forward to the upcoming versions!
