No, you will not be able to get AT&T's 3G on your 9530. It is a different frequency. You will only be able to get EDGE.

So I'm in a country that doesn't have service books available for download. Is there any way to bypass this and get an internet connection without having to install service books? I'm in Belize, and the service provider is DigiCell (not to be confused with Bermuda's Digicel)

Nope, you can't bypass the need for your carrier service books... being in Belize doesn't mean the directions are any different... just where the instructions direct the installation of the Tmobile or ATT service books, you will install your Digicell service books.

Do you have another BlackBerry device currently registered and working on this Digicel network?

Dade, when you "run the program" are referring to Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced? Or what program?

Held me understand specifically where you get stuck.

I have a Bold(old version) and I change and unlock a storm2, I did all the step and i still have GSM, which i think is I have been unable to resend me the service book, because I do not have a data plan for the Bold ( it is in my I-phone). I have the old service book from my Bold in my computer but it doesn't work with that neither.
What can I do?
Thanks

No, you must use the Service Books for YOUR provider. ATT in your case. Read the initial post in this thread, the ATT service books are provided there.

Get THE BlackBerry Data Plan on your ATT account.

No, it won't work with the iPhone plan. It won't work with green eggs and ham. You must have the BlackBerry Data Plan.

I didn't know that you had to do all that stuff. I just unlocked it an popped my sim card in the device and was on my way. Are steps 1 - 7 really important?

If your internet browser works good without the steps, great. Enjoy.

Hi, i need to get the service books for Vodafone UK

Jsanders told me somwhere in this thread there is a way of extracting the services from an existing Voda BBerry that has the services on it.

I have just logged into my vodaBIS acc.and sent the services to my phone

Do I trust my service files and extract them or do I ask my brother to extract his from his Bold 9000...Full BIS etc...stil on Voda ?

Thanks.

Is it normal to get an `Uncaught exeption error` (on the phone itself, no the PC) just after phone has reboot back up ?, at the end of step 3

I would do it from the 9000.

Connect that device to the USB > PC.
Start Desktop Manager > Backup/Restore > Advanced. On the right hand side, select the Service Books and do a backup. That IPD file will be your Service Books.

Hi, I went through that guide ok.
I still got no Internet browser option in`Browser Settings`, this is because I am missing a couple of service files `Blackberry Internet Browsing Service` being the main one...

I have sent the service files from my BIS login - no luck

I have tried looking at the service files from my brothers (fully functionall) Bold 9000 - it hasnt got the service files i need on it

I got vodafone to send the service files through again today, as they said the BIS login site may only send the basic pack of services - but still i only get some of them (I get 18 in total)

He said to do a hard reset on the phone and then send the service files fresh

Is there any handset settings at all that could either cause the phone to not recieve all services ?

thanks
