Hi Kai,

I have upgraded to the latest version. But I still have to press the "trackball" or "enter" twice to send the message. any idea why?

you're on a pearl, no? the enter to send fix was for the patch build for earlier OS models where enter didn't do anything but add a carriage return.

the first enter on the pearl is for the suretype word recognition, second gets fired as an actual enter. it's the way the native BB textfield works.

I just upgraded to 0.5.22. I tried to log into my AIM and MSN. However, none of my contacts from both services show up (even thought I checked the desktop version of AIM and MSN and they did show up)

Default Save Preferences Bug in 0.5.22

There was a bug introduced when we put up 0.5.22 which prevented your from saving in the preferences screen. This bug did not seem to affect the pearl, but did affect most other devices.

We have put up the fix for this problem at the same OTA location. If you haven't already upgraded to .22, you shouldn't need to worry about this problem.

If you've already upgraded and have experienced this problem, you can try OTA install again from the same location. It'll still say 0.5.22.

Thanks to everyone that reported the bug to us, sorry for the inconvenience.

I don’t know if it is related to JT but I have had a large number of people tell me that they are getting Busy in Data when trying to Direct Connect me. I was standing right next to one person who tried and got the busy in data message and my phone was in the idle screen. JT is the only program running in the background.

Mike, this is a Nextel 7100?

We keep one connection open with the server at all times, and that should be it when the app is in background. Most of the time the connection is idle.

I think direct connect uses the same set of TCP connections as JiveTalk or any other 3rd party app, which has an upper limit, but one certainly shouldn't cause a problem... Are you able to direct connect out when JT is running?

Yes, AOL keeps adding features and not updating TOC.

I used to get this all the time along with people complaining about my phone shooting to voicemail too when I was using Verichat and the other messengers but I haven't had any problems with JT.

This new version of jivetalk seems to deplete my batter much faster than the others.

that's interesting. we had put up an initial build that had a problem, which didn't affect the pearl but did most other devices, wonder if you were one of the folks that downloaded that version. also had small networking change, which was also rolled back.

what's out there now has the exact same networking as before, in .21, .20, etc. anyone else notice a battery drain?

The new update was only released yesterday, my battery life seems the same. Only time will tell but its has to be better than running 3-4 separate IM programs for all my providers (AIM, Yahoo and Google Talk and maybe soon ICQ).

same here. in fact, my battery started draining since I upgraded to version.21 and it drains still on version .22

Besides, I keep getting the time out error message whilst trying to login to msn. GTalk and Yahoo is always connected, MSN keep on kicking me out and unable to log back on.
