Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
what I think is intriguing is the fact that since all this stuff is missing from the BES, and since the capabilities of the z10 are greater than the iphone 5 from my understanding, wouldnt this shed light in the developer front since many small guys have a chance to bust open this young market/ new OS from all angles either building on what has been done or integrating various apps into new better ones.
maybe I dont know enough but I say when i finally upgrade I wont miss anything, I wanna get in on the app market and create a new app culture around the z10, BLACKBERRY WILL RISE AGAIN!

I wish there were more document collaboration tools, e.g. Google Drive. Nevertheless, very happy!

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
not missing any apps I like the maps with the blackberry because I can select shortest, fastest, tolls and no tolls, or any combination which is something you cant do with the google maps but I would like the addition of being able to walk it seems the maps only uses roads.
google maps can be useful in this regard.
I am missing the some usability I was accustomed to on other areas but I will try to cover those issues in another thread

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
Will Blackberry Traffic be available for the Z10?
Appworld doesn't show that it will.
If not its a deal stopper, I'll stay with the 9810.

From what I've been reading on other forums, BB Traffic is not available.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
Thanks, NJBlackBerry. I've found the same.
Pity, Blackberry Traffic is really good.
Any good alternative available, with spoken turn by turn directions?
Google maps on this 9810 doesn't speak.
Edit: Lazy question I guess. Just found the GPS topic, reading it now, but still interested in what works & what doesn't.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
Chase has confirmed that there will be no banking app for BB10. In fact they have pulled Chase Banking for ALL BlackBerrys. They will continue to support Android and iOS, and have said I should simply use the web browser interface.
I miss my Starbucks app as I find myself there multiple times each day. As a workaround I brought up the barcode screen on my iPhone, took a pic of that with my Q10, and it works perfectly to pay with my Starbucks card. I don't get the info the real app provided, of course, like balance and rewards status, but that's no biggie. I can look that up on the web browser if I feel the need. Since I have auto-reload enabled there is nothing pressing that I must see. And on the plus side I don't get those annoying Starbucks notifications for "pic of the week", etc. I had all that disabled on my iPhone's SBX app but I continued to receive them anyway. A glitch they said.
I'd like address book fields to be smarter like they are on the iPhone. The iPhone knows when you're in the zip code field and shows you the numbers keypad instead of making you switch. BlackBerry should do this as well - just enable Alt when you're in the zip code field. They already do that with phone numbers fields. I also like how the iPhone capitalizes BOTH letter when you're entering a state into the contact field for addresses. Maybe I'm just sensitive about this minor point because I just rebuilt my contacts database on my device before wiping it again. These are extremely minor points I would like to see addressed.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
BlackBerry has lost their focus in their mania to appeal to the general consumers. It seems like they are ignoring their traditional power base of corporate/business users when they *should* have a dual focus. Appealing to the average consumer is just plain smart, because that is a potentially much larger audience. But there needs to be some balance in their approach. Long time users are feeling left out, especially with apps, as BlackBerry tries to make their devices appeal to the iPhone crowd.

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
I would like the Google maps. I used it on all my other BlackBerrys for geocaching. I am trying to use the BB maps but it is just lacking some crucial features I need. :(

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
Google has been scaling back their services on all other platforms lately.
I don't think you will see a native GMaps apps anytime soon. You can try this. http://www.cachesense.com/

Re: What Apps Are You Desperately Missing on The Z10?
Yes, I agree. I noticed a couple years ago they didn't seem to want to support BlackBerry anymore and vis-versa. I do use Cachesense and noticed it had a lot of map linking options. Google had it all. I'm trying to wean myself off though.
