Next time it prompts you to add stuff which you might think you already have on your BB, hit the refresh. I remember experiencing something like this and when I hit refresh, it usually found less to add/change. Again not quite sure how it works specifically, just my epxerinece through trial and error.
Sounds like its time for another one-way sync.

i will keep the refresh in mind...but the fact calendar entries are copied to two calendars on the device is giving me a clue...I will keep digging, there are more than several results when I search "Duplicate calendars"

Fixed the Duplicate Outlook entries

It seem strange it wanted to do this, but I selected OK just to satisfy my couriousity.
the sync process then process 5000+ items from the BB Calendar as well. At the time, not sure what all this meant. Total sync time, 7minutes - I think due to the extra Calendar processing on the BB.
anyways, i checked my BB's Calendar, and the duplicates are appearing, AGAIN .
HELP
...
UPDATE on the duplicate calendar entries on the BB device:
See this thread I found and am entering input there
http://www.blackberryforums.com/gene...ml#post1313460
|
I followed the thread above.
Basically, I deleted all my email accts (from BIS website sprint.blackberry.com) , wiped my device's calender (using BB Desktop Mgr), sync'd Calender one way from PC to my device, added back all my five email accts (from BIS website), for each of the five emails added I made sure to delete each Calendar Service books present (Options, Advance, Service books - for each email there are two service books, I deleted the first as that is the calendar one) EXCEPT for the email acct whose calendar is ;default' - that is where the calendar entries are stored. Wolla.

Address Book, why deleting and adding SAME records onto Device???
OK, first duplicates with Calendar entries, now the Address Book.
Here is my setup in case you've forgotten. Home PC (Outlook) PST file sharing Address book between wife's BB and my BB.
At work I sync same items as home (Calendar, Address Book, Memo, Task).
Effectively here is how steps I took from scratch.
Home
1) synced PC (Calendar, Address Book, Memo, Task) with 'blank' BB
Each item set to sync 2-way
Address book has 2213 entries
Work
2) synced PC (Calendar, Address Book, Memo, Task) with 'blank' BB
Each item set to sync 2-way
Address book has 2213 entries
Home
3) start sync PC (Calendar, Address Book, Memo, Task) with 'blank' BB
Each item set to sync 2-way
Address book has 2213 entries
Here is the funny thing that happens for the Address Book Processing:
a) Reading from Device Address Book
Record xxx of 2213 records
b) Processing Device Address Book
Record xxx of 2213 records
c) Reading from Microsoft Outlook Address Book
Record xxx of 2213 records
d) Processing Device Address Book
.......... (just a status bar)
e) Then I get this message
CONFIRM ADDRESS BOOK EDITS
You can accept or reject the changes, or you can cancel the sync if you don't want any changes to be made.
The following changes for Address Book Microsoft Outlook will be applie to your Device data in Address Book
2213 Deletion(s)
2213 Additions(s)
The issue is that step e) should not stop/occur as there are NO changes between the Outlook (on PC) and the Device's Address Books.
I say this as I have seen my wife's BB and mine sync with say one up to five changes an step e) will only note those one up to five changes/deletions/additions; NOT, the entire 2213 entries. If I press ACCEPT in step 3) above, it takes an unGodly amt of time to delete the device's Address Book 2213 entries and the Re-Add all 2213.
Any ideas how to proceed?

Wirelessly posted
I've had that happen to me before. I don't understand Intellisync well enough to know why it does a mass delete/add when no changes are made.
However I do recall that in instances like this, I tried hitting the refresh key and it usually "checks" everything over again to see what really needs to be synched or not.

I remember you mentioning that 'refresh' before. Where did you find this "refresh" ? Are you talking under Backup/Restore...Advanced...Refresh (under the 'Device databases' window) ?

Refresh should be an option while you are syncing the individual components (address book, calendar, etc.)
It's usually along with the options Accept/Decline/Cancel.
Through trial and error, I've seen the result of hitting refresh coming out two different ways:
1. All the records are checked and they find I actually have less to sync than before; OR
2. All the records are checked and they present another menu asking which version (Outlook or BB) do you want to use for the conflict in question.

I'm sorry, the option is not refresh, it's re-sync. Been using the wrong term this whole time.
I also looked up what re-sync is. Based on the help menu it does a full synchronization. However, the results from my previous post still stand.

Yes in step e) above:
e) Then I get this message

The options are what I can choose:
Re-Sync
Accept
Reject
Details
Cancel
Help
I think your 'refresh' is 'Re-Sync' ? I tried this, it process all my contacts again (Address Books on Outlook-PC and Device) - then continued onto the rest of the syncs (Calendar, Tasks, Memos) without any further interventions for me.
Then when sync stops, I start sync again - again step e) shows up

Yes as mentioned in the post right before yours, I've been using the wrong terminology. It is re-sync and not refresh (was thinking of the one-way sync).
So aside from the address book duplicates, is your calendar okay?

Calendar OK now (see my response above with my setup steps)...
Address books, it is not duplicating, more of BBDM is thinking ALL contacts changed so ALL device contacts need to be DELETED and ADDED (from PC Outlook), again.

Ok understanding your situation now.
I wonder if a one-sync (from BB to Outlook or vice versa) followed by a 2-way sync would get rid of the issue?

I know I did that when I did the first sync at Work, and I think issue (message e) ) occurred at work once I did the two way.
I have to try again this weekend or tomorrow (IT's FRIDAY , time to mess around with our toys!!!) .
I just got VPN setup so now I do not have to go all the way to work to sync to see what happens, I can sit at home with my home Outlook and my work Outlook next together on two machines... THIS IS AWESOME as it cuts down on debugging time from days to minutes
I may actually just setup a new PST at home just to hold some bogus Address contacts (like 50 versus my current 2213) - should make sync's ALOT faster for debugging purposes

I think that's a good idea.
When you did a one-way sync followed by two-way, did you hit the refresh option when you did the ONE-WAY?

I noticed I accidently left my home PC's Address sync to one way Outlook->to->Device.
I may have done this at work the other day . I just ran a complete cycle (following steps) -everything with Address Book now seems OK!:
Clear BB Address Book
Clear BB Adress Book - All
Refresh
-Home PC
Sync Once way xxx8211; Outlook to BB
Sync Two way
-Work PC
Delete All Contacts
Sync Once way xxx8211; BB to Outlook
Refresh
Sync Two way
Refresh
-Home PC
Refresh
Sync Two way
To address another question earlier about SPEED of the syncs, my work PC syncs ALOT faster. Work computer is newer: 2 Duo 2.0 GHz; home computer is a Duo Core 1.6 GHz.

Don't go messing around and causing more trouble!
Not a private thread. I think it's because the issue is more involving.

I have tried all these options also but I still get the popup that asks me to accept the changes. I did the clearing of the BB and a 1 way sync and then the 2 way sync, then the strange thing, I decided to do another sync and now it tells me that there are 30 changes and 1 deletion. Nothing changed. Why?

with this sort of thing, you need to be very specific with your setup AND steps of what you did.
Please provide specific details so we can try to assist
*ADVICE - and do not waste your time calling your carrier's BB support line, it's useless
