Hi there maybe you can help me out. I have the 8310 from AT&T and since they haven't released their 4.5 verison update yet and you say just release one. I was wondering where should I go to get another 4.5 operating system?

Follow the directions and you can have 4.5 despite at&t not releasing it yet!

As most of the readership here will know, RIM circulated an email yesterday announcing availability of OS4.5 to the general public.

I'm happy with my current hardware and, as attractive as touch screen may be, I simply cannot afford a Storm.

I feel that, as customers, we have the right to expect the manufacturer's best operating systems on devices we've already purchased.

It is we who continue to use carriers' networks at monthly fees that aren't insignificant, and these monthly fees--not hardware sales--render the carriers' principal source of mobile sector revenue.

Isn't it time to put some pressure on the carriers that haven't authorized this version for our existing machines?

The problem is AT&T's revenue plan.
So,why won't AT&T switch to version 4.5?

While anythings possible,adding 8GB memory card capability and a video camera to the Curve will undercut Bold sales,as customers won't spend $200 more for a Bold over a 4.5 Curve.I know I wouldn't.

If I were AT&T I'd keep my Curve at 4.2 so as to force my new customers to the Bold if they want a SDHC card ,updated browser or video cam feature.

Notice the other GSM carriers the updates released for don't have Bolds or next gen Blackberries yet.

I understand the official at&t 4.5 release has occurred, saw it yesterday in a Crackberry post but its "pin specific". You can go to the na.blackberry.com site and see if your number's up...if its not your turn, there'll be no upgrade to download. I took the option to be notified when my pin number came up for the official at&t 4.5 OS. Already running .102 and doubt if there'll be a noticible difference between the official and the beta. We'll see...

Downloaded and installing 4.5.0 rel 110 now.
