Thanks for the heads up CrashDavis. I'll look in to this.

I'm almost ready to go with a public beta of Shortcuts 1.5, I just have a couple more small issues to resolve... I'm aiming for this Monday.

Maybe too late for this next release, but I have a couple of things. It's really hard to see which of the toolbar icons is selected when you scroll through them. It would be nice if there was more contrast with the colors. I do see the text, but it takes a bit for that to appear usually.

The other thing is, when I reboot the device, the icons that I removed from the toolbar are replaced. I don't want the icons in the toolbar for address book, browser, etc., because I use the keyboard shortcuts. So I remove them, but they keep getting put back.

It's a great app, though, I use it a lot.

Hi gang,

I'm after a group of maybe 10 or so existing Shortcuts users to help with some sanity testing of v1.5 before I do the public beta.

If you would be interested in participating, please PM me. Oh and in your PM include an email address you can be contacted on.

Cheers,
Neil.

Just wanted to give you an update of where things are at. Since pretty much the beginning of this month I've been working with a couple of beta testers (some BBF members) on v1.5 of BBSmart Shortcuts. I put out the first beta of Shortcuts v1.5 on 1st August.

Releasing v1.5 of Shortcuts had been at the top of my todo list but then I got sidetracked working on a critical fix for Alarms Pro users who had early OS 4.5 releases or OS 4.3.0.127. Getting a fix out for this took precedence over releasing the upgrade for Shortcuts.

I'm now in the final stages of public beta testing of BBSmart Alarms Pro, and just this evening put out a public beta of v1.2.1 of Alarms Pro. If this beta goes well (I'm hoping it will!) then I'll be returning back to Shortcuts and aiming to get out v1.5 very soon.

Thanks!
Neil.

I know you have been working hard on shortcuts and Alarms Pro of which I own both. But I also own BBSmart HTML viewer and many months ago you talked about and showed a few screen shots of an update coming soon (back then).

Everyone keeps saying get OS 4.5 but unless you are on a BES which I am not you do not get HTML email etc. Your app is still very much needed and I would like to know if the big update will be coming soon?

Thanks

Some devices will never get OS 4.5 so does that mean those devices should never have an update? I did find out from our corp IT that BIS/BES both have HTML support with OS 4.5. I am now going to be on the BES so for me its no longer an issue ONCE 4.5 comes out on AT&T, but as we have read some of the earlier devices are slated for OS 4.5.

It's still in Beta. As a personal note I'd rather programs take longer and be more polished than hurried out the door. So far this is what I've seen from his work to which I am thankful for.

I'm a brand new BB user and I'll check out this shortcuts app. I was honestly surprised that BB doesn't have shortcut capability built in.... on my treo I could assign every letter of the alphabet a shortcut to anything from websites, to name specific txts and of course programs.

Very neat for personal use, BUT if I need to deploy a custom browser shortcut to 100 devices using BES...how would I go about this?
