"No applications configured for synchronization"
Would have been nice if these carried over.
In fact, Outlook isn't even on the applications list now.

Restarting Desk4.1 gave me the Outlook choice back - but all my settings are gone. Just FYI in case anyone had a hard time setting up their Intelisync settings the 1st time.

Interesting features might be coming in 4.1:

from http://www.pgp.com/products/universa...erry/faqs.html

The PGP Support Package for BlackBerry is integrated into BlackBerry Handhelds with device software 4.1 and, with a simple activation license, enables organizations to seamlessly integrate BlackBerry Handhelds into PGP Universal email security.

Its an optional installation package:

Code:
<loader version="1.0">

<application id="net.rim.java.pgp" SystemSize="normal" _appsVersion="~[0,4.1)" series="~SmartCardReader">
        <name>BlackBerry PGP Support Package</name>
        <description>Allows the user to send and receive PGP-protected email messages, using PGP services such as PGP Universal and PGP Desktop</description>
        <version>%_appsVersion:V02%</version>
        <vendor>Research In Motion Limited</vendor>
        <copyright>Copyright 1998-2005 Research In Motion Limited</copyright>

        <requires id="net.rim.blackberry.secureemail.pgp"/>

        <directory>Java</directory>
        <fileset Java="1.0">
            <files>
                net_rim_bb_pgp.cod
            </files>
        </fileset>

</application>

</loader>
It appears that they are also adding an SSH application to the mix, as well.

I'm all for the bluetooth sync...but I can see this being an issue with security heavy companies. I just purchased the 7100i today and I believe it comes with software 4.1 loaded, so I guess I just need to get a bluetooth pcmcia card now for my laptop.

7100i is available now with OS 4.1. the 8700 will be available in the next few weeks with OS 4.1. all other models (7100 and 7290; i'm not sure if any others are getting the upgrade) will most likely have OS 4.1 available before year end.

Yeah, but i carry enough stuff around now as it is, i would rather just use a card and leave it in the laptop all the time.

From looking at the release notes on 4.1 DM it looks like they really addressed most of the issues on lotus Notes or Domino side and there were not many issues that they fixed on outlook side. so I don't know if I will upgrade the DM right away but oncet the handheld 4.1 is out then I will give it a shot

COUGH COUGH what about the 7520!! we always get left out on the porch in the rain If we had our own section it would be much easier
I looked for a link to the DM software within this thread and either im blind or there isnt one and i cant make heads or tails out of that 1.276 mile long post in the beginning of the thread where jibi explained in COMPLETE detail....something or other.

K.I.S. "Keep It Simple" so the inept contractor loosers like myself can understand please LOL

I dont know where in his post it is, links are the same color as regular text and in a HHHUUUGGGEEE post who knows. Maybe if you can find it in your heart to put it up here you would be blessed with a gajillion dollars.

okay, just because links are the same color does not mean that a line starting with 'https:' isn't a dead give away with the link... the links are in my first post in this thread not the third one (which is the long one that simply tells what it fixes and whats still not fixed).

as for the 7520, i don't deal with non-GSM/GPRS phones, so i honestly never think about commenting on those. the 7520, 7250, and any other 32MB phones that i may have forgotten to include will most likely receive the OS 4.1 upgrade. there's no reason why they shouldn't. the 16MB phones may receive an upgrade, but its doubtful - i don't believe TMO has any plans of doing so for the 7230, 7730, etc.
