I purchased this app and I have to say that its doing everything I need it to do. So, many thanks (paid almost nuthin' when crackberry had it on sale). As of today I finally DO have an issue with it. I can't use the app right now because due to a medical condition, I'm waiting for a liver transplant and I want to just keep my LOUD profile 24/7.is there any way to stop it from always running? I'm sure its not taking up much memory at all. But I would like to have an option whether it starts auto-matically from a reboot yet I don't want to remove it/uninstall it. Any thoughts?

just edit the profile and uncheck the Activate checkbox.

good luck!

Yes Smiley, thank you for the quick response, but that still keeps the actual app "running" so it is in my application switcher at all times - I know that will make it NOT perform the Profile I had setup. Im look to have it not be memory resident 24/7 - cant you add an Option to "Autostart with Power On" with a check box so if I reboot my phone it WONT be running in the background? I understand the importance of having it auto-loud in case people forget to launch when they power their phone off & on, but just set the default checked YES and let the user MANUALLY decide...I hope I'm making sense hahaha... Thanks!

It makes little sense to have a profile controlling application to not auto-start and not be continuously running -- unless it was a huge resource hog, which it's not.

But I can see why YOU may want it to not be running. My solution would be to uninstall it. Wait, you say -- I don't want to lose all my profile schedules! You won't, they will be back when you reinstall (unless you happened to do an OS upgrade in between).

You can re-install the .jad and .cod onto your SD storage card and can reinstall at any time using the Media Application's Explore function.

Yeah, I agree with you on point 1 - and I know its just nit-picking on my part. Its not like I'm dangerously low on memory. Was just curious. Will probably try option 2 first. I can see that coming in quite handy for other things I do too! Thanks to both of ya!

Default Can your app. automatically switch profiles based on calendar entries?

Hi, can you please confirm your app will do what I'm looking for? You mention it integrates with the Calendar, but I don't think it will do what I want from what I understand? It looked like from a glance of the documentation that I have to manually add one entry at a time into the Calendar and tag a profile to it.

1) Here's my situation. Rather than setting the phone to switch to vibrate (for example) from 9 to 5, I'd like to set it so that during meetings that I have in my BB's Calendar, it automatically switches from Normal to Vibrate, and then back to Normal after the meeting time is up.

That way, I have my phone on the whole day and it will ring, but during scheduled meeting times, it will vibrate only.

I receive many meeting requests via email, so that's how they get inserted into the Calendar, and sometimes I add them directly via the BB. Also, some meetings are recurring weekly/monthly.

2) Let's say the above is doable, can I override the profile and manually change it during the time? For example, if the meeting finishes early, manually change it myself from Vibrate to Normal?

Thanks.

I can answer the second question - you can bring up the internal profile app at any time and set/reset/or change the current profile.

As to the first question, I have not really utilized the Calender-link but I'd guess that unless you have a generic MEETING title or note or similar, it would not work. You need a matching WORD or TERM, I believe, for it to recognize it.

Correct. If you set up the Calendar keywords in Profiler and use those calendar keywords in your appointment Subject, your profile will switch to what you set in the Calendar keywords.

e.g. if you set the word "Meeting:" (without the quotes) to Start Quiet / End Normal and your default profile is Normal for that time period, then at the start of your meeting, the profile will switch to Quiet and then back to Normal when the meeting is over.

Thanks for the reply. Good to know there'd be a way to make it work, but not very practical unfortunately. I could put some key word in meetings that I set up myself, but I often receive meeting requests from others at work, so those meetings would then fall thru the cracks. Bummer. I don't want a partial solution. I might as well then train myself to just put it on vibrate before every meeting.

I'm not on BES (but sounds like you are), but on BIS when I receive meeting invites (which of course don't have keywords that I have defined), after accepting the meeting, I just edit the Subject and add the keyword in.

As soon as you save the edited meeting, it shows up as scheduled in Profiler's Temp Profiles and I'm gtg. Yes, it takes a few extra moments to do so but at least I don't have to remember to change profiles.

Actually, I'm on BIS. What would be the difference/impact?

I get my work emails on my BB, and we use MS Outloook at work, which the BB recognizes the meeting requests, and automatically inserts them into my calendar, even if I don't accept them (I never bother to do so).

Your idea might not be too bad! When looking at my calendar, I have about a dozen appts. a week, so it's not a ton of extra work. What keyword do you use?

Default cant get profiler to work

I downloaded the trial version on my storm. I set 5 profile schedules. They're all "activated". But the profile doesn't changeAt the time specified, though. I powered off and back on. Any ideas why this is happening? This application is a potential marriage saver if I can get it working.

Thanks.
