Well think about this. You can buy a plastic skin for $25 + $5 shipping, and this little clear rubber swatch-watch guard for $20 + $5 shipping. Now you have $55 into your phone. That is such a joke I can't believe people are silly enough to pay that.
$10 + $2 shipping and you have me sold on these rubber covers. At $20 that's simply too much margin...just like the $25 skin.

I don't think it will be out anytime soon. It takes time.
First, they need to get a 8100 to make measurements and mold the phone.
Second, it will go out to a design team to design it.
Third, the plans will go out to China and the prisoners in China will make them. (Sadly, It's reality. Most things are made in China these days by them.)
Fourth, the final finished products will be shipped back to U.S.
Fifth, the online store will receive them and put it for sale on their website.
Sixth, we order it and get it.
So I don't think we going see it until end of this year or beginning of next year.

[QUOTE=seidioseidio]If you are interested in a super slim crystal case for 8100, please post here. also please post your requirements. Protect and personalize your Pearl with crystal case.
i have not seen your crystal case in person, but i would think that tapered button holes for the sides would be in order.
you might also sell a case model that is a snap together front with a removable back (optional speaker holes with mesh)...tho i have not seen how the back fits onto the case.
i agree it must be KISS.
my above suggestions are mostly just that. i think i'll purchase no matter what, since i'll likely carry my pearl in my pocket.
for color: smoke? or a faint chrome smoke?

And what of a rubberized offering?

Don't quote me, but we're looking at a 2 - 3 week time frame for a variety of cases to rear their heads.

.
Initial issues will include at least a clear crystal and black rubberized. Things will pick up speed from there with at least another 1 - 2 colors available for the crystal, and possibly more for the rubberized. Smoke is definitely in the works.

Missed it by THAT much. We have a few 8100s in house and should have some of the cases menitioned in this thread out within the next 2 - 3 weeks - plus a whole lot more goodies.

How about 1.2mm - thin enough? Very strong and flexible as well - you can bend it (within reason) and it won't break.

I may be one of 5 people that hasn't seen a Nano up close, but it has a dull matte finish with a very "grippable" feel.

I'd love to see a rubberized (silicone?) case for the 8100 (transparent or black) that includes access to all soft-keys and ports on the sides of the device (including the lanyard anchor). And, although I'm not going to be playing catch with my Pearl, I'd give bonus points if you had thick, raised bumpers along the edges to give it some extra protection and grip.
Most importantly, I think it should have some sort of hard screen protector that is RAISED (up and off the surface of the screen) so as to prevent directly scratching the gorgeous screen, or indirectly scratching the screen by trapping dust right up against it.
Thanks, and I'm looking forward to seeing (and using) the finished product.

Thank you for the input. The rubberized case being talked about in this thread is a hard case. We will be producing a silicone skin for this model as well. To see what it looks like and for a better description, please take a look at the following link. We will have a matching ratcheting holster to go with it as well.

I personally would rather have the screen covered by the actual case instead of the screen protectors...one I never completely trust those things and two it would be better for someone who has oily skin that uses the phone to clean off the case rather than try and clean off the protector and still have some stuff under the case. It's up to you in the long run to decide what you really want the case to look like but I always like the case that covers the whole screen since you don't need the touch screen and it will protect the phone and screen from things getting under the sides and what not.
I will be buying one probably as soon as they come on the market cause I need a clear case for my pocket
Thanks,
Brian

Hi Brian,
Thanks for the input. If enough requests come in asking for a change ONCE the product has been released, then the cover is something we'll look in to. I can appreciate what you are saying about the screen.

I would love it, if you guys produced a holster for the 8100, like the ones you did for the 8700 and 7130. Is something like that in the works

The short answer to that is: yes, yes, and yes. It should be available within the next 2 - 3 weeks max.

2 - 3 weeks from now. It is already almost out of development and on its way to production. "Make someone happy, make just one someone happy..."
