This might not be a big deal for those that don't reboot often, but I do, daily. No, I don't have to reboot daily, but it keeps things fresh and avoids any issues IMO.

My experience also re reboot time. I have had most of the previou OS versions that you have had and this is by far the fastest at rebooting. Only 1/3 to 1/4 the time to reboot. A very significant change from .190, .216 etc.

if you set up DM to automatically find updates or something similar, more than one vendor.xml file can be produced when plugging the BB in.
It could be theres another vendor file that isn't allowing you to update to the latest version.

Tried that, did a search and removed any vendor files there, nothing changed.

I have experienced this before as well, and like some said before you will need to erase the apps and reload.

No, unfortunately this OS doesn't run Live Search either. That was the reason I skipped the previous OS.

Anyone else using Windows 7 having any problems like this?

Don't do it from the Windows 7 beta - I had it lock up to and I kept trying until I screwed up my phone and had to revert to basics to recover the phone. Use Vista or XP.

Based on what I am reading looks like I am going to stay on .167 and wait for a stable release.

I'm on 221 and reboot is 6 mins+ its CRaZY.
Battery life is also very bad. When I'm in weak reception area for a while something go wrong with my radio and I cannot send anything out nor can I make phone calls, and require a phone call.
When you are in a situation when you need to make a phone call and you have to wait 6 mins + or when call gets dropped and I have to reboot in order for me to make the next call; its very disappointing.
Its been about 8 days since I had this OS build and I was forced to reboot the phone due to radio dying issue exactly 4 times.
Anyone else experienced this?!

upgraded mine yesterday and encountered an incident just now when the mobile network failed to reconnect after signal was dropped when I was in an elevator. I did not noticed the failed reconnection till almost an hour later and it was reconnected after I manually disable and re-enable mobile network.
anyone else encountered this?

So I just upgraded and it's ok, except I think the CPU is being fairly heavily loaded. If I do something like play a game or go into gmail I notice my connection goes from 3G to EDGE. When I let it go back to idle it goes back to 3G after a while. I don't change my physical location the whole time. I'm on ATT. This isn't going to do, so I may go back an OS if I can.

Just replaced my Curve with a brand new Bold, load it with 4.6.0.373 OS, everything seem to be working.
Never encounter any problem from my OS upgrade for first Pearl, previous Curve and now the new Bold.
I fully utilized the two previous model and is now enjoying the new Bold.
Great to be a Blackberry addict.
Cheers

Downgrading Now - never had dropped calls until the upgrade from 216 to 221. Last few days I've been getting dropped calls very regularly. Not professional or acceptable. No choice!

221 and battery life
I have downgraded back to 216 after a week of battery issues. I would show half a battery and holster or put the phone down and a few minutes later the phone would be completely dead. There was no battery warning or life after "too low for radio use." At first I thought that I had left gps on or an application was hanging but after a dozen times it was clear that the battery drain was accelerating at the end. It was very strange.
I have been back on 216 for three days and back to my full day and a half battery life! Oh the joy of low expectations!!
<- I miss my 8800!

Hey guys, I upgraded to .373 my unlocked bold 1 week ago. Works perfect, no glitches, once in a while the signal dropped but I believe it is my carrier that is switching to 3G technology. However I have noticed that when I make a call, a small rectangle with some diagonal stars showed up on the upper left side of the screen, looks like a dominoes piece. Keeps on during the call unless you toggle to speaker phone, when it disappeared. Any ideas of what is that?

yes, search for it, theres a thread about it. something about enhanced handset call audio
green button, menu, options, general options, at the bottom, then toggel to previous or normal. if boost bass or boost treble is the option, thats what the icon is about

Fatal Error Updating Software
I have downloaded the Blackberry 4.6.0.162 software, and started installing, but during the process, it suddenly aborts with a message:
"A fatal error has occurred while updating your device's software. Please try again"
No matter how many times I "try again", it fails at the same spot. Can anyone suggest what I can do to get my phone's software upgraded.
The installation was done using Blackberry 470_b050_english_nomediamanager.exe

Most people recommend using Download Manager 4.6 instead of 4.7.
