No such luck there. You are going to need a 32Mb device to get 4.1 handheld code.

Well you can always run HK CSL 4.0.2 on your blue GSM phones.

When I upgrade to the new version, I lose all of the connectors out of intellisync. Is that normal? I can't sync with notes at all any more. The only options I have are ASCII Importer/Exporter and Netscape.

sure? the OS 4.1 Platform.alx file has the following:

7200 series (not 7290):
Code:
<os radio="GPRS" series="7200" Colour="True" Theme="Normal" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="normal">GPRS/rim7200g.bin</os>
7700 series:
Code:
<os radio="GPRS" series="7700" Colour="True" Theme="Large" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="normal">GPRS/rim7700g.bin</os>
Others:
Code:
<os radio="GPRS" series="5800" Colour="False" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="small">GPRS/rim5800.bin</os>
<os radio="GPRS" series="6200" Colour="False" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="normal">GPRS/rim6200g.bin</os>
<os radio="GPRS" series="6230" Colour="False" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="normal">GPRS/rim6230g.bin</os>
<os radio="GPRS" series="6700" Colour="False" JVMLevel="1.0" KeyboardType="Qwerty" SystemSize="normal">GPRS/rim6700g.bin</os>
Maybe they just forgot to remove some stuff, but I don't know... seems suspicious. A full OS 4.1 installation (all options, all unavailable optional options, all 11 available themes, etc) takes up roughly 14.5MB, so there's a little room for extras. They may decide on a scaled-down release, as well.

Smile Really looking forward to Blackberry Device Software 4.1

Hi, I am new to the Blackberry, only just got it a week ago. Started to look around at what else it can do and the latest version of Desktop Software 4.1 looks realy good. I really want to be able to sync over bluetooth. I know lots of people keep pestering the people at RIM, asking when the Device software will be available for the 7290, but it would be nice to know how long I have to wait. It would also be nice to know how the upgrade will be done. Is it via the service provider (O2 UK in my case) or will there be an Internet download. It would also be nice to know if it will be available for my 7290, before I get my hopes up.

Thanks again, its only been a week, but I cannot imagine my life with out my Blackberry .

Mark.

no one knows the release dates for the various carriers except people in their QA groups. RIM most likely knows when they will have code to the carriers for QA/Testing for the various 32MB models (7100, 7290, 7520, 7250) - I believe for the GSM carriers, this has already been delivered (think of it as an internal carrier beta). RIM most likely has rough estimates from the carriers on when they will be releasing the code, but only the carrier actually knows when. from what i've been told, we should most likely see the 4.1 device code sometime between late december and early february or so, although there's always the chance that it will be available sooner.
