One thing I dont get is the Avatar setup states:
The maximum size of your custom image is 140 by 80 pixels or 640.0 KB (whichever is smaller).
Appologise if I'm reading that wrong, but some of the gif are quite large (physically). If there was anything that I found annoying, it would be that, but thats just me.

Ironically, if not using an animated avatar, unless your ava image is even smaller, these forums limit you to 140x80px, and if it's larger than that, it's scaled to the 80px part of this. But... when using an animated gif some different limits seem to apply, therefore you can have much larger animated ava than static one. Thus people have a larger canvas for expression by using animated avas, much to poor rivvie's distress....

Thanks for clearing that up for me. That explains why the animated avatars are so much larger than the forum 'allows' avatars to be. |
