Some like the 4.2.1.96 OS. I would leave it unless you have a problem or a reason to upgrade.

Default Unlocked Themes?

Just installed desktop manager V4.3 and the latest rogers software package. Has anyone hacked blackberry.alx to unlock the themes? I searched for the file but didn't find it. I thought there was a thread with the files. If anyone can point me to a link I'd appreciate it.

Disregard this post. I edited the file myself.

It appears that's been changed. There used to be two 8100 downloads. Now there is just one. I edited the first post. You can download for "Pearl 8100 Smartphone."

I edited the first post.

So one of the major things I am wondering about is if the new update 4.3/4.5 will allow tethering with the Nokia Internet Tablets (N800/N810). Right now no one can get it to work w/ the current version. Anyone w/ the "beta" 4.3/4.5 version able to check this??

question on this software update. loading this on a friends phone (t-mobile) 8100 pearl and about half way thru the process we got an error? it said to go to DM and use back up restore for a file called loader back up (2008-02-10).ipd saved on desktop. so i see the file and when i open DM and go into backup/restore i have no options to upload. i can only access this thru advaced then click file to open and click on the file located on the desktop. it loads the info but its all a light grey and i cant open or transfer or do anything. all i get on the phone is a flashing red light. cant turn on or do anything.

Please help and let me know what to do to get this phone working.

Thanks,
Mike

Mike, if you are getting the flashing red light, it sounds like you need to follow the instructions here:
