and when i go to save it tells me Name cannot be empty...
Angel, that is interesting as to why you have two phone alert types in your Profiles. I think for some reason your phone is reading you SIM card funny.
When you go to Options > Advanced > SIM card, you said your phone number is entered there. Can you edit it? Make sure it has your area code in it.
You may just need to go to your carrier and ask them to swap out your SIM card for a new one.
It's possible to have two phone types in profiles. I think it depends on the carrier/sim card. Some sim cards/carriers will allow two different numbers if you desire. My unlocked BB's on Unicel show two different phone entries. One is blank as described above.
Check to see if you have the following menu options available:
Phone Application > highlight the number field > Menu > Change Line
OR
Phone Application > Menu > Options > General Options > Active Line
These are the Rogers instructions for setting your outgoing calling line. If your phone is set up to support a 2nd line but your carrier is not you may be hitting a conflict there.
