I don't know... if you can find an older version it might be worth a try, but I'm not sure that an older version is going to make a difference. It might, it might not.

*Hands kathrynhr a PFD*

I was able to open ONE notification this morning, but then FB stuck it's tongue out at me. No go now.

No I'm not kidding! If Facebook would like to update on the back end of things, well that's fine! But having it done live, or with a glich is annoying. Don't throw pies, I'm not saying I don't like updates! Just don't let it affect the masses before u pull the trigger Facebook! That's what I meant....

Okay, except that you listed the Facebook app versions. You do realize that RIM develops that app, not Facebook, right? Besides, this appears to be a Facebook issue, not an app issue.

It's okay. Take a breath. Sit down. Relax. Let me just get this needle ready... this won't hurt a bit, I promise.

My best guess is that it will be fixed sometime between now and never. Hopefully that has narrowed it down enough for you!

I find that the FB site pukes quite often. Probably their backend not feeding the FB app correctly, rather than a problem with the app itself.

What I have noticed thus far...

If I get a notification and go to read it and it shows as follows:
Person's Name
"Status Comment"

It will cause the issue.

If it shows as follows:
Person's Name
First part of the actual comment

It opens without issue.

Boo!

I guess we're not in the clear just yet. So... since we're all still stuck in this boat together, anyone need any more drinks? Finger foods perhaps? Everyone comfortable?
