One thing my boss asked me was if you could actually tie a specific AD group to only administer a specific group on the BES. Is that possible? We have about 15 different departments and would like a few specific people to be able to provision only people in they're specific groups.

No - it's more of an all-or-nothing approach. However...
Are the departments set up underneath their own respective OU's?
If so, you might be able to do something like this (but it would require setting up different BerryStats installs):
- Set up a BerryStats install for department X in a new virtual directory in IIS (you can use same configuration folder, just rename the xml files and change global.asp and selfserviceadmin.asp to reference their own xml files)
- Create a user account whose sole purpose is to authenticate users upon logon in this OU (this is probably not even necessary, since the LDAP root should isolate your search for you)
- Set the LDAP root for your departmental OU.
- Create your departmental Berrystats admin group in the department OU.
- Configure BerryStats with the new group name.
Keep in mind that this will only work for users who are in their own departmental OU structure (not user groups).
This may work...

Is there a way you could tie some of the additional tools that the BRK gives you into this?
(i.e. using mdspushvspull to see what website an employee was going to)
I don't know if this would be a huge deal or not, just curious...
Other than that it's is a rocking app!

Hi Rob ..
Is it possible to create additonal custom reports? One of out admins that uses this asked if I could make one that pulls these fields:
Inactive
Phone Number
DisplayName
Last Received
IMEI
PIN
SMTP
ModelName
GroupName
She's trying to eliminate having to check them everytime she wants to run the report.
Thanks

I've created this for you - just save it with a .xml extension and drop it into the queries folder. It will be available under 'Custom reports'
Also, see this link for creating other custom reports:
Administration Guide (berrystatsadmin)

I think that is a great idea, especially with those resource kits that have to do with a specific device or user (i.e. this is easier than exporting bulk results through BerryStats).

Try to download and try it again. I forgot an important part of the query (goes to show that I've had way too much coffee today) before I uploaded it.
Sorry bout that ;)

You can... - check the option 'export results to xls' before you run the query.

ERROR: Command text was not set for the command object.
ok I have this problem
Email Display Name Address Telephone
Provider error '80040e0c'
Command text was not set for the command object.
/berrystats/global.asp, line 293
BerryStats v57d
This occurrs when I try to look up a user in AD on the AddUsers page.
The offending code:
292 End If
293 Set objADRS = objADConn.Execute(ADSQL)
294 If Not objADRS.EOF And Not objADRS.BOF Then
295 GetUserInfoFromName = objADRS.GetRows(100)
296 Else
297 GetUserInfoFromName = "NoData"
298 End If
299 objADConn.Close
300 End Function
I imagine that the objADConn is the problem because I can't find where it's declared in the page.
please let me know if i'm on the right path with this.
The addusers text file did fix the error I was having above but, for some reason this will not provide any info in the results when searching for users that do exist in AD

regarding the AD error - objadconn is declared in global.asp (so it can be used in multiple pages). You may need an updated copy of the adduser.asp page. Check back a few posts, and you'll find one of my posts with the page attached. I'll have that version in .58 when I post that next week.

This thread is about BerryStats, an add-on to BES, and not the BB manager...
I suggest you start another thread with your question, you'll be sure to get some responses.

HI QC,
Thankx for this awesome application. I found the self activation and reporting function is very helpful. However I have 2 issues with the Berrystat.
1) when login with windows credential, i can't view my BB details (able to view other users BB details if login with their credentials to Berrystat). When login with admin local authentication, able to view the BB details.
2) Below error occurs when trying to add/reset password for users:
[04:59:16] BESUserAdmin::main - Log Start
[04:59:17] BESUserAdmin::LoginClient - Could not establish secure channel. Error Code: -59 (Cannot establish a secure connection.)
[04:59:17] BESUserAdmin::main - Log End
Does the error indicates SSL certificate needed to perform the task via web?
Thanks in advance.

Hi QC,
Managed to get rid of problem #1. I did changed the code in lite.asp line 10 to below:
If lcase(Session("LoggedOnSMTP")) <> Request.QueryString("SMTP") and session("") = "admin" then
response.redirect "index.asp"
It works. Waiting for SSL cert for my problem #2
