This issue has been addressed AT LEGNTH earlier in this thread. But to answer AGAIN. Using gmail forwarding you WILL retain the correct reply-to address on forwarded e-mail. WSB.

Ok, I know this thread has gone on long enough, and I have been experimenting with this for the past 24 hours and am still getting dups to the handheld.

I think its the 'sent from' filter in gmail.

HOW do you order the filters in gmail???

Thanks

Jeff

Your question is a bit confusing. However, whatever email you SEND FROM your BB with have a "FROM:" field as set-up in your bwc. By default it will be your BWC addy (e.g. tmo.blackberry.net etc..). There is no way to have multiple "FROM:" fields with the current BB BWC/BIS. Does that answer your question?

Or is your question regarding the "FROM:" field on INCOMING email TO your BB?

Delete one of the filters and redo it again. When I did that the order of filters switched and I stopped getting dupes. The trick is to choose the first of the two filters created. If you choose the 2nd filter then the order will not switch.

deezmfnutz: I am very much a newbie and am having problems with the spam as well as the fact that I want to keep a copy of sent mail from my BB 7290 so that I have it for future reference.
I have a gmail account and would so appreciate it if you would give me "baby steps" as to how to accomplish the above two things...I use Outlook 2003 and have stopped most of my spam there, but it sure is getting through to my BB.
Thanks so much for your help!

I don't know if this has been mentioned or not, but, after not getting my mail forwarded from my GMail, I noticed the problem:

Don't put "Matches: in:inbox" into the "containing words" field. Instead, put "in:inbox" in there. Probably common knowledge for most, but it wasn't for me.

Default New Gmail Feature

Well it looks like gmail did it AGAIN, they have added a new feature: MAILSPOOFING!!! So now you can set-up multiple "FROM:" fields with your gmail account. Note: this does not directly effect your blackberry set-up, but it does make the gmail interface slicker, now I can send an email from my gmail account and it will show as "FROM: [email address]". You can set-up multiple addys and there is a pull down menu when you compose a message to select what "FROM:" address you want. This really makes gmail the ultimate e-mail gateway. Check it out, go to your gmail settings tab and click on the accounts tab, add your accounts verify them and bam, you have spoofing! Enjoy yourselves beyyaaacchhhessss!

Again to be 100% clear this does NOT allow multi address spoofing from your BB it only does this from the gmail web interface.

I use the BB for Work and Play! The BB or the BB web client needs to add this feature to its featureset. I use BB Reply, but I don't like my gmail account address showing up when sending emails out even though the reply to address is my work address.

In an early comment I mentioned the long forward times though Gmail. I am happy to state that the time it takes Gmail to foward emails to the BB has improved from mintues to seconds!

Ok, I am trying to link my Gmail account to my Blackberry 7250 and have the following problem (even after following the instructions above)--whenever I send a message FROM my Blackberry I always receive a duplicate copy of the sent message in my Blackberry inbox.

My current settings are below - can someone help me out?

BLACKBERRY INTERNET SERVICE SETTINGS
-The only email account I have is the blackberry.net account.
-My Sent From Address is currently set to [email address].
-My Auto BCC settings is currently set tp [email address].

GMAIL SETTINGS
I have set up the following two filters:
-Has the words: in:inbox
-From: [email address] --> SKIP INBOX (interestingly, even though the email I send FROM my Blackberry does NOT show up in my GMAIL Inbox (it 'skips' the inbox and goes into the archive instead), it still sends a duplicate copy back to my BLACKBERRY inbox.) --How can I stop this?

Thoughts? I appreciate the help!

Delete the "Has the words: in:inbox" filter and then re-create it. It is hitting that filter first, and going to your handheld.

Good call! That seems to have worked so far (no more duplicates!)...so it seems like the best way to do this is to always set up the Has the words: in:inbox LAST only AFTER you have set up the other filters and settings through Blackberry.

;) of course you can't just make-up domain names, that would suggest the intent to spoof with malice. A large ISP/ASP like google/gmail would never allow such a thing. What they do allow is for you to use gmail as an email HUB of sorts. Where you can send receive and organize all of your email accounts. Very slick, I like it in the mouth very much. WSB!
