ok so i downloaded, installed and am running all the programs but i still cannot get my "EDGE" in capital letters. i disabled my firewall on both the simulated blackberry and my desktop, but still no dice. any suggestions? thanks.

I have gotten the simulator workign and I am able to browse to my pages flawlessly. When I go to say this sight... //luckyluciano.completelyfreehosting.com/ringtones/download.php?dir=S-Z/]BlackBerry]BlackBerry Ringtones Ringtones and try to download a ringtone to the simulated blackberry, I get a message like this:

HTTP Error 406: Not Acceptable
The page you are trying to load is not supported
by the browser. Please try loading a different page.

When I view the details of the error, it says:

200: Applicatin cannot accept the content [audio/adpcm]

CAN SOMEONE PLEASE HELP ME, I know I am so close and it took me so long to get the MDS simulator working, I had to re-install java and like a billion other things.

Well I have been able to send pics to my 7100t, but ringtones don't work.
When i use the 7100t simulator to download adp files, it says it downloaded the file but when i play it i don't hear anything just a "ding". When I try to send it to my BB via content store it does send but it doesn't play. Any suggestions?

It works now. I just needed to upgrade the BB os to 4.1 now it works just fine.

Well, I've made some progress but when I try to get the link to the midi file on the simulated BB I get an error 400 message.

Any idea what this could be now?

I don't have time to read through the whole thread but I did CTRL+F and searched quickly and found nothing with 'Content Store'. When I go to find Content Space, there's nothing, but there is Content Store. I was just wondering if this is the same thing. I have to download the simuator still so I havn't been able to test it. If that's not the same thing, how do I get Content Space?

yes it is the same thing. i did it with content store and the ringtone file transfered fine. but..

i have a question. i understand the basic concept, and i did everything and even got the file to transfer over. but the ringtones dont work!

when i surf with the simulated bb and goto a adp file. does this take a while to load? am i suppost to be able to play it on the simulated bb? it was @ 0. i tryed pressing play but nothing plays. i thought maybe thats just how it is and saved it hoping it would work when i transfered. but no dice. can someone please clarify?

i made these two by the way. mp3s converted to .wav. shortened in window's sound recorder. then converted to .adp. let me know if you guys are able to download these. the first is a chorus off of remy martin and neyo song. and the other is hi-tek - tony guitar watson.

actually it just worked for me. i figured out it out. you have to have the LATEST OS. 4.1. i guess it has some media stuff that makes it able to use adp music files. I was doing it earlier on the 4.0 os.

Also when i surfed on the simulated bb for the adp file, i wasnt able to play it within the bb media player, but after it was transfered it worked like a charm. if anyone has any questions i shall answer!

so from my experience
must have 4.1+ operating system on your bb
content space = content store

i have everything up and running properly but how do you save the tone to the simulated phone? I am using version 4.1 and simulating a 7100g.

When I click the link to get the adp tone it just shows a audio player application on the simulated phone. Then if i try to use any of the simulated keys I just get a error noise. So then i use the escape button to go back.

when that media player shows up. there are 3 circle icons. you scroll to the far right one. which is like 3 lines and some dots or something. click the scroller and the options should show up. it may not play b/c mine didnt. but i saved it anyway. transfered to my bb and it worked fine.

i also had that problem. it could be a number of things. id would first try doing a reset for the simluated bb. the option is avaliable in one of the top menus. i remembered once i loaded my berry stuff onto the simulated one, which i dont have the data plan, so i guess it loaded the no browser. i say you reset then restart. and hopefully it loads the browser. there are also options at the top like you can fake any situtation ie signal, or battery life. so the option to go online might be up there to. just look around. i dont remember and i am to lazy to load it and check

fyi: heres how it should work if you dont understand the process.

1) save/backup your current ringtones ("content space") using bb manager

2) load bb simulator for your model. restore your real content space you just backed up. then hit the browser icon, surf/download/save. when your done, do a backup of content space which has your newly saved ringtones,

3) now load that backed up from the simluated onto your real bb. it should now appear in your ringstones section. goto where you can adjust the volumn or to vibriate. click it and the option showtunes comes up. it should be there.

OK, I don't know what is wrong, but I cannot get gprs to turn in to GPRS so I can browse.

I downloaded the simulator, 4.1 with the MDS simulator in it. I open MDS, a command prompt flashes on my screen really quick, then it goes to cmd.exe and starts listing a bunch of stuff. Eventually it stops with the last line saying:

<2006-11-17 14:35:54.703 EST>:[34]"<MDS_MDS>:<DEBUG>:<LAYER = SCM, EVENT = Admin. Task- pending push messages>

Is this what it is supposed to do, or is it messed up? It just sits there in cmd.exe. I open the simulator, load 7100t.bat, and no browser icon will pop up.

OK. It seems that the problem is the backup that I restored to the simulator didn't have the data plan enabled.
