OK, I have to ask... You have the "Reload database on start" option turned on, correct?

I'm stumped. I've got it running OK on multiple simulators and devices with no problems in that area.

One thing we can try if you're ok with it... send me a backup file that contains only the "KeePassBB Options3" database in it. You can use the Desktop Manager Advanced Backup and Restore to create a new empty backup file and copy only that database into it. Don't send me your actual keepass database.

You can send it to me at ... isgtj0 at users.sourceforge.net

I just installed this program and I keep getting this error "Unable to create new database" whenever I create one in "/store/home/user/keepass/".

Any idea what would cause this? Does the file need a particular extension on it in order to work?

Nope. Did you create the keepass directory? Any errors in the system error log?

I figured it out. Not sure exactly what I was doing wrong, but it's working fine now. Thanks!

I finally got it working by Wiping my device and reloading.. All good on that front..

HOWEVER - on both of my devices (Bold and 8900) - neither of them can be backed up via Desktop Manager (v4.7). The Backups fail with an error - "Error Backing up Database(s)".

When I go into "Advanced" (in backup and restore in DM) I can manually back up all the Databases EXCEPT for "KeePassBBDatabaseObject". I used to have the same issue on my 8310 with older versions of KeePass and would have to Wipe the device. Thankfully, on the new 8900 and Bolds, I can remove the KeePass application, soft reset the device, and then can perform a full backup. This error also seems to mess up my profile on our BES server at work..

Anyways, this seems to be a recurring bug and I am seeing it simultaneously on two devices (with different KDB files and different options on each). I hope we can get this one resolved once and for all! Let me know if I can help..

In the meantime - Thanks for the great app and great support!

EnR

Where is the database stored on the device? If it's on the SDCard or in the "/store" directory, then the file won't be available to the device when plugged into a USB port which means that KeePassBB can't access the file to back it up. Try keeping the file in the "/system" directory.

KDB file is on the SD card. Will try to move it onto the device and get back to you.
FYI - I am not using , nor have I installed, the add-in to sync.

That's the problem.

Even if you don't install the add-in, the backup process still calls the app on the device to get the data.

That was my problem. I completely overlooked it. I had to backup/restore to a new device and missed this option. All is well now, in regards to loading on startup.

But it's still not wanting to sync. I'm still trying to debug.

Thanks RemyJ

Smile problems syncing database

I have reviewed all the previous posts, but still seem to have problems syncing the database with my BB. I keep getting the "Unable to decrypt database" error when attempting to sync from DM. Backing up all databases appears to work though.

I have cleared out the option for the "specify database file", but it does nto prompt me to create a new database, just returns the error message.

I have upgraded to the latest build V1.2.1102, am running DM 4.7, am running on BB OS 4.2.2.196 and have the databse located in the store/home/user/keepass folder. I have tried it with mass storage mode turned on and off to no avail.

Any ideas? I love the tool, but have been unable to get it to sync since I started using my 8830 and am currently resinged to copy from my PC and replace everytime I make changes.

Thanks!

I am happy to report that it is working perfectly on both devices now.. The problem with the default db not opening mysteriously dissapeared and the failed backups via desktop manager are now working since I moved the databases OFF the SD card. Confirmed for the 8900 and the 9000.

Thanks for the great product and support!

I am using Keepass 1.1.5 and KeepassBB 1.2.1102

I even uninstalled/reinstalled KeepassBB hoping that would fix the problem. Still nothing.

I'm guessing you didn't install the latest version of the desktop manager add-in. You have to uninstall the old add-in and re-install the new add-in from the msi file.

Hi Remy - I'm using KeePassX on my Mac and version 1.2.1063 on my BB Bold. I update my BB database via SD card, going back and forth between my Mac. Is there any way to make the database on the BB load more quickly, without having to wait for the loading and decrypting? I have checked ON the reloading of the database on start and ON for loading keyfile on startup. The speed at which the database loads is the same whether or not it loads from the SD card or the BB system itself (I copied the database from the SD card to the BB system just to test this.) Thanks for any help ...

That was exactly the problem. All is well now.

Again, thanks for the effort.

Unfortunately there's not much I can do. There just aren't the same amount of cpu cycles on a BlackBerry as there are on a desktop.

Thanks for the reply Remy -- just wanted to know if there was something more I could be doing to speed it up. I appreciate this program as it's the only Mac <--> BB password syncing program I've ever come across, and I've been looking forever!

Do you plan an update to the X version for Mac? The only bug I've noticed with the X version is the inability to make the custom icons -- the feature is there but it doesn't recognize them after they're made. It will only accept the icons that come with the program ... thanks again :->)
