Not to worry, it's being built!! In an e-mail newsletter to customers, Webis repeated it's shipping this winter, with a private beta to be started shortly.

Its hard to say - there isn't any pricing or upgrade policies on their web site, however, if I were to guess (and this is purely speculation on my part) you'd probably have to get a new code (at least that's how flexwallet works). Info on pricing or exsisting customer discounts, if any, aren't out there yet.

Default Lotus Notes?

Any plans to integrate into Lotus Notes? My company standardized on that platform years ago, so all my work tasks and calendar have to be done (regretfully) in Notes.

Sorry about that. I remember that when I used PI on PPC that the dev team was pretty good at listening to such requests. I not sure if they had sync conduits to different PIMs and whatnot for PI on the PPC. I know they had one to Pocket Outlook > Outlook (native PIM). I had PocketBreeze and/or SPB Diary to take care of such links to PIM data outside of Outlook memory serves me right, but had to buy 2 separate products + PIM though. Those days are over now....

I would venture to say that maybe not in the initial release, but subsequent ones after that they may implement such things if there is a need. And that syncing would probably be controlled with some kind of add-in from the BB Desktop Manager most likely.

Its my understanding the plan (at least according to a post on the Webis forum in July) is to sync the device databases to their own, so as long as you can sync your blackberry to lotus notes, then PI should be able to read from that.

With that said - we're talking about a product that's still in private alpha and in active development - so time will tell.

I too am interested in the product. I currently run PocketDay, and while it's an interesting one screen view, I would prefer something with more functionality. More like Outlook. I'd be interested in Beta testing as well.

PI and PocketDay are two entirely different things--in terms of quality of design, UI polish, everything a power user expects. If PI enters the BB arena, PocketDay goes out of business by the end of business that day. That's how vastly superior PI is than anything else out there.

I was a long time PI user before switching to a BB. Bring it on, Alex!

EDIT: Well, maybe that's a bit presumptuous to say PocketDay would be out of business. I'm sure it will have its loyal users stick around. But the difference between PI and anything else available for the BlackBerry can not be overstated.

Ha ha, yes indeed. The standard RIM PIM is abysmal so anything is a step in the right direction. But the WebIS guys have repeatedly said Pocket Informant is not a replacement for Pocket Day, which has many different features, and will probably stay on my BlackBerry alongside Pocket Informant.

Anyway, PI runs a poor second to Pimlico's DateBk PIM, but Pimlico have shown no interest in porting to BlackBerry because of the limitations imposed by the OS.

Nevertheless, awaiting with interest what the WebIS guys offer... they do know their stuff.

Default PocketInformant for Blackberry

It would be a great enhancement for my Blackberry. I have used it successfully on my Dell Axem. As soon as it might be available, let me know and I will download and purchase a license.
Sincerely,

I would love to have Pocket Informant for the BB.

I have have used PI, Agendus, and Agenda Fusion on various Palm and PPC devices. I would love to have better calendar and PIM integration on my BB. The standard apps just don't cut it.

Is there any update on the status of PI for the BB?

Best status is on the webis forums. We believe we'll have a beta to all current BB customers in December.

Good to hear since I am amazed that a thread like this generated 110+ posts without seeing the actual product.

I have seen the product. I've used it since it made its first appearance, back when Windows Mobile was called Windows CE. Or could you not read that in the original post?

I've been drooling ever since Pocket Informant for BB was being discussed. I'm pining for a calendar that gives me a weekly view ala paper date books. Palm has it, Symbian has it, and I want it for my Blackberry, dammit!

I too will be interested in this. I am coming from a Palm and the application I use there, I would doubt will be coming to the BB anytime soon (one developer and all).

PI comes recommended as a replacement for the unnamed program by others who have gone from the Palm to the Windows world and some reading of what you do currently, I would be very interested in a BB port!

You've used the alpha of PI for BB then? Please... give us some details! What functionality does it add? How does it look? Good interface? What extra info does it put on screen?
