canonbomb1987 is right though as far as getting quality memory for the Pearl. Maybe the generic versions might work, but for how long? I have a kingston 1gig and would not go past that or a sandisk. Would be nice if kingston 2gig would drop to the $20 mark.

In time, 2gig will get cheap. Until then, 1gig Sandisk microSD was advertised at $19.99 at OfficeMax in this week's papers. That's register price, no rebates. In-store only.

Why are you talking about "memory sticks" inasmuch as those are a Sony media.

Or do you mean, as I suspect you do, "MicroSD chips."

Maybe if you could talk the talk, people might respond to your query.

In year 2000 my friends and I complained that 48MB [yes megabyte] chips were $110.

So patience everyone.

Just an update. I had posted about no issues with a Corsair 2GB microSD card, well mine up and failed today. After doing some research on this microSD card it would seem to be a pretty common problem with them. I'm planning on swapping it with a Sandisk 2GB.

What do you think about this one? I'm skeptical since I've never heard of

I got my 2 gig from cingular when i bought my phone for 99.99 and got a 30 dollar rebate becuase i bought it WITH the phone. 70 bucks isn't a BAD price. But that will definitely start to fall as more products start to actually USE the 2 gig.

Question

Hello to all,
I'm new to the forum and I have an issue I hope some one out there can help me with. I got the 8100 TMO unlocked using Cingular service. I bought a 2GB Sandisk MicroSD and when I installed in the BB it would turn on, the LED light was red like when you get a message. I though something was wrong with the BB but when I exchanged the 2GB for a 1GB it worked OK. 1GB is OK now but I'm thinking that if I want to get more storage I may be limited to 1GB. Anyone ever experience this problem?

Thanks in advance!!!!!

I reccomend getting a 1 gb in the meantime because the 4 gb and 8 gb cards wil lbe coming out soon. No need to spend $50+ on a 2 gb and then end up getting a 4 or 8. Just spend $20 now and wait for the really big ones to become cheaper, or get a 2 gb at that time.

Thanks mwin. I didn't have the lates OS so I updated this already.
Like canonb said, it makes sence to wait for the 4 gb or 8 gb cards.

Thanks a lot!!!!!

I was just at the CES and there will be a 4GB card soon. From what I was told at the CES you'll be waiting about a year for an 8GB card.

the usability of these 4 & 8 gb cards is still in question in our current devices (due to possible hardware limitations), so I wouldn't get all excited over them quite yet.
