Mark, Can the keyboard lock function be modified to have an option to "lock on holster" and then when the key is pushed the dialog box should default to "yes" so it can be undone with only a push of the trackwheel. If both can not be done, the default "yes" would be nice anyway. Thanks again for great software.

Mark,

I now have a problem with the 2 latest versions of the wap Professional version (so, v. 2.55 and 2.56)....neither will allow checking off of completed tasks using the spacebar. I know you fixed this is the other version I asked you about earlier in this thread, but now that I've changed versions, it's gone back to not functioning. Any chance of a fix?

Thanks in advance.

Hi, i have purchased pockeyday pro and i like it very much. Great work!
I am worried though about how much it will download if i leave it onscreen continuosly.(This is what i want to do but i have only 5 meg free per month.)
I'm wondering whether you have any average download/upload statistics on how much PDpro would use in a day?(eg say with 1 RSS feed, weather and stocks, then record a day also with 2-3 rss feeds and more regular updates etc. and compare to determine average monthly usage)
Would it be possible to have an extra menu on pocketday showing upload -download amount-and total transferred by pocket day and by the phone altogether (including webbrowsing etc) . This would be a great feature for us mortals who do not have unlimited access and need to keep our bills as low as possible.

Anyways, keep up the tremendous support,
Respect due.

I don't know what provider you are using, but there might be a way to get the information on data directly from them. For instance, on Verizon, if you dial #DATA they send a free text message to your phone telling you how much data you have used in the current billing period. Other providers may do something similar.

UnicrOn,

There aren't any real metrics on the amount of data that PocketDay uses. The RSS feeds vary widely depending on the feed. Stocks probably use 100 bytes per stock per refresh. Weather uses 1K per refresh and goes every 30 minutes (25K / day).

Question and small suggestion:

I'm planning a trip out of the country (to Canada) this week and don't know what to expect with regards to data charges (i'm T-Mobile). I'd like to minimize my potential data charges and it would be nice if PocketDay had a global "turn data services off" control. I know I can drill down to weather, RSS, and stocks and turn all these off, but global control of data for global roamers would be nice.

On the unread email section, if a message displayed was not received today, could you display the date instead of the time?

Otherwise, great product!

Just noticed there was a new Version 2.61 available. I installed it and got lots of module not found errors when I tried to start it after the install. Did I do something wrong? (The previous version installed was 2.5x pro).

UPDATE: I deleted PD and re-installed. Errors fixed.

r111,

There's not currently a "turn data services off" feature. There is a manual setting for weather, stocks and the rss feeds.

I'll check into the email idea.

Unhappy Probs with Pocketday after TMobile Update

I just installed the latest TMo BB software update, and now PocketDay isn't working. When I click on the icon, it gives me the message asking if PocketDay should be allowed to access phone logs (it always did this before), but now when I click "yes", nothing happens. Eventually the message disappears, but Pocketday never opens.

I also just tried updating to the new version 2.61. The OTA link is giving me 2.56, and the downloaded version says 2.61, but then it only says "downgrade" from version 2.56 to 2.61 when i run the app loader. It won't actually update it to 2.61. Not sure if this is related to the TMo update or if others are having this problem too.

You may have to delete the old version before installing the new version. I initially tried loading it on top of the older version and got the same downgrade note. After I deleted the PodketDay files from my desktop and then unzipped the new version, it worked fine.

Tried what you said, and 2.61 is installed now, but it keeps giving me an error when I start it. I get the new setup wizard and I put in my zip code. Then I click on either save or continue on the screen where you can register (I need to get my registration number back), and it then gives this error:

Uncaught Exception: java.lang.IllegalArgumentException

jubrand,

Odd...what's the status now...send email to the support account and I'll send you directions on how to reset all the PocketDay settings so things get reset.
