I'm just using the "BEEP" for, I guess as long as it wakes you up that's all that matters right?

Thanks to PapaBerry:

Enabling your firewall fixes this small oversight.

Menu>options>security options>enable>save.

Im gladly using my favorite alarm back. Worked for me and i have been trying to find a way around it till today.

Fantastic! So what are the ramifications of enabling the firewall? I've always had it disabled and noticed no ill effects.

lhurtado,
Thank you for the excellent Alarm app! It's awesome and I really like it. As a suggestion, in the next update would it be possible for you to add the alarm symbol on the home screen when any of the alarms are turned on? Thanks again!

It's funny how we overlooked that right? so simple but thanks to PapaBerry for this. I'm glad i can set up an alternate alarm for the damn alternate side parking regulations out here, lol.

P.S. lhurtado, even though the cure was found, donations will still fly your way so at least you can do a face lift to this magnificent piece of software, thanks again lhurtado.

This is actually a great idea and he should make it that the color for the alarms set are displayed.

i.e. 5 different color alarms, 5 different color icons on the home screen " individually ".

Yes, exactly. If this is possible, it would be even more awesome. Thanks in advance for looking into this.

Yes, the firewall enabled DID enable MyAlarm to work. However, when I enabled the Firewall, several other applications did not appreciate it!

Viigo, TeleNav, Beyond411, and others requested permission.

JiveTalk would not work, perdiod, even with permission set. After is disabled the firewall again, JiveTalk fired up.

I have having to choose between JiveTalk and MyAlarm. I need to keep playing with it to see if there is any other workaround.

Same here. I was thrilled to be able to use my sound files as alarms but I'm reconsidering as the price for being able to wake to a custom alarm is at the expense of more important apps not working right (e.g., Mobile File Manager, etc...). It's still a fine alarm application using the BEEP but I would rather have everything work than half of them working.

Well, my JiveTalk kept working flawlessly after the firewall been enabled. Every or most the other applications will ask you again to allow access. It pops up on the screen for whatever application you fire up after the firewall enabling.

I've noticed an issue with this application occurring when time zone changes. The alarm seems to ring in reference to the time zone the application was installed in (not in reference to the set time zone in BB's options).

For example, I've installed the app in Chicago and set the alarm to ring at 8am (North American central time). When I return to New York (and change the time to correct time zone), the alarm would right at 9am (NA eastern time).

Is anybody else having this problem? Thanks.

BB8130 here. If the alarm goes off when holstered and locked I cannot unlock the keyboard no matter what and the only solution is a battery pull.

Thank You!! I was looking for a program like this. If it works out for me I'll donate some money for the time taken to write it. Thanks again.
