You will not loose any of your sprint applications and they all run fine.

I expect a different issue, with this os 4.5 I need to increase the volume when I'm talking because it's listen too low or even with echo. So I downgraded back to 4.3 and I correct the problem. I'm using a 8110 at&t unlocked for t- mobile.

I successfully upgraded my BB 8130 Pearl (US Cellular) to 4.5.0.89 last night with so far no issues to report. Now what is the 4.5.0.122 number all about? When I go into "About" it shows the 4.5.0.89 version number.

The higher number is just a "package" number and the lower number is the actual applications version. Odd perhaps but its how RIM numbers its stuff!

When I "install" the downloaded OS file, I can see that it is installed through the Control Panel, but I can't find neither the Vendor.xml, nor the Loader.exe files.

I am using Vista, but I have had success before with OS 4.3. I'm not exactly sure what is going on here.

Any ideas?

Thanks

I have a 8130 with Sprint. After I upgraded to 4.5 I had a java error appear occasionally when switching between apps (such as main screen to voice, or messages to main). I had to pull the battery to get rid of it. Only fix I found was downgrading to 4.3
Since downgrading I haven't had the issue.

I haven't had this issue, maybe try the upgrade again..something may have not loaded right.
In fact I've had no issues with 4.5 on sprint

This...is
A) not for 8100s
B) Not about third party applications

Please search for an appropriate topic or start a new one

Default Filing for future reference

I just got my BB8130 (v.4.3.0.97) (first smart phone, shoot first phone with a camera!) a bit over a week ago, and I'm still learning it, so I don't think I'm ready to try to upgrade anything yet, but this thread has been interesting. I'm sure I'll have all sorts of clueless questions when I get brave enough to contemplate it.

well i tried this and during the install i received an error message and had to wipe my blackberry and reinstall the old OS 4.3 and i was just wondering if this was probably a one-time deal and i should try again or if i should just wait until it is released by my carrier.

Might have just been a one time deal. I uploaded it to my sprint phone just fine; waiting for 4.5 from Sprint may be a while longer.
