Default Pearl 8100 and a Bluetooth Headset that works?

Please Login to Remove!

I have trying to find a bluetooth headset for my Pearl 8100 that works. So far I have tried Plantronics 320, 645, 655 and all 3 have STATIC NOISE during conversations. The 655 is the model sold by Blackberry but they call it the HS655. I like the appearance of these Plantronics units I listed and hoped to find something similar. Its not this phone that is the problem because it has been exchanged for another reason. I have tried 2 different 655 units and still get the same static results.

So ... does anyone have an answer to this problem? Am I doing something wrong? What is a similar looking unit that WORKS PROPERLY?

Thank you for any help.

OK .... I think I found the answer to my problem (and maybe yours). There are a few references to the the Samsung WEP 200, the Jawbone and the Motorola models. I looked them up on CNET.com where I get a lot of information. The Jawbone looks big and so do the Motos but the WEP ... I'm not sure? I decided I should get a look at Best Buy. The Jawbone was to definately to big for my ear. The Motos are big and you see them everyware. To my bad luck (or good), they did not have the WEP 200. BUT, they did have the Samsung WEP 410. Smaller than the Plantronics I have tried, same shape but much much much smaller. They are very expensive ($100.00). There was only way to find out if it worked. If it didn't was it's going back to Best Buy .... if it does, I can find one at Amazon. WELL ... this is the one I've been looking for. Works perfectly ... crystal clear sound (both transmit and receive), works 20 feet away, smaller than them all and I didn't have rearrange the interior of my ear for it to be comfortable. This is SO VERY LIGHT, you don't need a hook to make sure it doesn't fall out. Now the price ... Amazon sells it for $50.00 ... mine is on the way.

Thanks all for your help.

Jawbone (with the ear gel modification) is so sweet!

I had the same problem with the Plantronics 655. I had two of them and the were terrible. I have had many of the Plantronics products in the past and they were great, but their bluetooth doesn't seem to work very well with the Pearl. I also tried the Samsung WEP420 it didn't sound so great either. I downgraded in price one more time to the Samsung WEP200 and love it. It is small and fits and sounds much better than the Plantronics 655. I was warned anginst ordering online due to so many fakes. I got mine at HHGregg for $50.00. Good luck with the search, it is not an easy one.

I've been really happy with the Motorola H700 that the AT&T sales rep gave when I bought my phone. Great sound quality and it's the first Motorola headset that doesn't fall off my ear. Plus the flip open boom is very handy turning the unit on and off.

I had the H700 which paired up nicely but everytime I used it, the person on the other end knew I was on a headset and my husband would threaten to hang up on me if I didn't turn it off.. I then tried the Nokia BH900 that I bought off ebay and that was the biggest piece of crap ever... it was a knockoff brand and not worth a penny... I'm looking now for one to go with my pearl and I'm considering the Samsung WEP200. I see that Pilot1 has had success and cnet.com is rating it pretty good as well.

Jawbone is great. But really pricey. I got the WEP420 and I like it for the most part. But the earpiece volume changes my itself sometimes and its really annoying. Ima bring it back to best buy and get the WEP200 and ill review it back here in a few days

My buddy has the motorola H700 and paid full price at the AT&T store. He also found the same exact model on overstock almost half off and it's not used. Not sure how overstock can do this but consumers benefit.

Default Samsung WEP200

I found the Samsung WEP200 on N1Wireless.com for 24.99... I actually spoke to someone on that site and I'm 'guaranteed' that this is not a fake for this headset. I should be getting it in a few days and will see then if it is the real deal or not...

I had a Samsung WEP200, it did work great, clear connection, good sound

Battery dies with 30 minutes of use, I went through 3 of them from various local Best Buys.

Try the Blue Ant Z9 I have been using it for a week with my 7130c. Works great. Make sure you update the firmware.

I have been using a jawbone for a few months and it is by far the best I've ever had. The hs655 was okay, but kept falling apart in my pocket. I got tired of losing parts and it also wasn't consistant in the way it answered calls. Jawbones noise suppression works very well too.

Ditto on the Plantronics 510. It's lasted me through three Blackberrys and had great sound quality on each.

I use the Blueant X3 micro ( BlueAnt X3 micro Bluetooth headset - main product page for the award winning X3 micro Bluetooth headset ) and it sounds great. I bought it on ebay for about $30 or $35. Can't beat that. I also like the motorola s9 which is nice for music too.

I use the Moto H500. It works great. i use it mainly because it has a mini-USB port for charging. One less thing to carry.

I've sucessfully used the Moto HS850 and the Jabra BT 250, but the H500 is my choice.
