Default Can use the aim feature if I dont buy the internet?

I have a curve and my provider is t-mobile. My current plan is a family one, with unlimited texts. No web. I noticed it has aim as a separate thing. Can I use it without going into a more expensive plan?

Sorry - to use any of the Instant Messaging tools, you have to have the additional BlackBerry Data Plans.

Actually, if you have the unlimited messaging for families, like me, that service includes unlimited text messages AND unlimited instant messages. So if you have an unlimited text plan that includes instant messaging, you dont need a blackberry specific data plan to use it.

Actually, you do. The AIM app installed on the BlackBerry devices goes over the data network and does not use SMS as its transport medium like older BlackBerry devices or other dumbphones.

I remember that old Oz Messenger that used SMS. It was awful, froze and crashed constantly, and ran dog slow when it ran at all. Good riddance!
