Default Pre Curve Tour

Please Login to Remove!

I'm with Sprint and I bought the PRE a couple of weeks ago. Love the phone but I've had a problem with signal strength and will be returning the PRE.

I've never used the BB. I'm considering the Curve or the soon to be released Tour. It appears the Curve is not 3G and the Tour doesn't have wifi. I have Sprint's Everything plan so I would like to have the use of the 3G network.

Are the BBs known to have good signal reception? Can I rely on them to operate reliably as a phone? Any reccomendations as to which BB model I should purchase?

Thanks

Wait for the Tour. See the reviews and comments in our 9600 section.

The Curve will have 3G speeds as it is on Sprint's network, but you won't get voice AND data like the Bold. I don't even think the Tour will have that, either, on Sprint's network. I also recommend waiting for the Tour.

I agree with above. Your device is only as good as its network.

Thanks for the feedback. Looks like I'll be checking out the Tour in a couple of weeks.

Do you see the Tour not having wifi as a big deal? And are the BB known to have good signal reception?

The reason I ask is because I've been a long time Sprint user and have never had signal/reception issues with the Sanyos and PALM Centro that I've had. Now, I get the PRE and I'm lucky to get 1 bar in my home. Sprint gives me an Airave ( signal booster ) to use at home. Of course the minute I'm out of range with the Airave I'm back to square 1. In addition to this, I don't feel I should have to resort to using my wifi at home to log on to the web because I can't get a strong enough signal to get onto Sprints 3G network.

I spend many $$$ for a phone that can't receive a signal without additional equipment. And I can't get onto the Sprint network without using my wifi. Something is missing here. I think the light is starting to come on. Now I know why Sprint can offer such good deals on service. They don't have to provide any.
