Talking linux development?

Please Login to Remove!

Sorry if I missed it. I did search. I see people are asking about a linux os for the blackberry. Anyone heard any plans on it or even better, are there any development teams working on the project I can check out? Thanx ahead as always.

I have a comment somewhere on another thread, I'm personally not interested in it -- I'm not one of those guys who has to run linux on everything, the BB java-based OS works very well for this device and I wouldn't change it. I love that fact that most generic J2ME apps work nicely, as well as fast!

There's a time and a place for everything, use the right tool for the job. What I would like to see though is an SDK for linux - I'm not holding my breath but I think it would be a smart move by RIM; encourage the dudes (& gals) who like to write open software but don't use Windows. $0.02 USD.

Oh well, to each their own. I just like having variety. Not that the SDK idea is bad either. Either way, something to play with is something I suppose.

Well, to each their own I suppose. I honestly just like having the option of both. The SDK idea sounds cool. Something to play with is better then nothing I suppose.
