BES 4.1.6 & GroupWise DMS Attachments missing

BES 4.1.6 & GroupWise 8.0.1 and using GroupWise DMS (Document Management System)
I'm having a problem when GroupWise DMS documents are attached to an email and sent to a user withing the same GW system, they don't show up on BB devices. The attachment does show up from their GW Client. The email on the BB appears as not having any attachments.
The same email sent to an external user the attachment works just fine.
Any ideas? Hopefully someone has experience with this

Overview
Email messages have an attachment in Novell GroupWise, but do not display the attachment on the BlackBerry device. The BlackBerry device user can open the attachment in Novell GroupWise, but not on the BlackBerry device.
Cause
Novell GroupWise specifies the attachment size as 0 bytes. The BlackBerry Enterprise Server for Novell GroupWise will not process an attachment of 0 bytes and removes it prior to pushing the email message to the BlackBerry device.
Workaround
Save the attachment from the original email on the computer and attach that file to a new email message. Send the new email message to the BlackBerry device.
