Did anyone else wonder if the OP might have posted for the purpose of fishing (phishing?) for information on how to do what they claimed already happened?

I'm an infrequent poster but longtime reader of BB Forums....I've always found it to be a great source of information.

Got to be honest with you Mods, this thread is not your best moment....

None of know what happened to this member. While it's likely nothing was hacked in the BB system, it's always possible. As Lunkhead said above, even one in a billion is a possiblity. Let's refrain from mocking this forum member.

The only person I seen (read) getting on him was me!!! The BBF Mods were very diplomatic about this farce....

Please place blame where it belongs.... With me

Thanks

eh, this thread was a good example of many users trying to ascertain the poster's intent and getting no where. The moderators and users could not have helped any more or less with the information given them. Yes, there was a little piling on there toward the end, but this is a public forum and all in all, the decorum was maintained somewhat overall.

Until the user returns or opens up, more questions have been raised than answered.

Unhappy

Just reading this post for the first time tonight. All I can say is that I am appalled at how the OP was treated. I know all the regulars here are passionate about BlackBerry devices and want to defend them.

It doesn't matter if the OP had proof or not. The way he/she was treated was inappropriate. People were downright rude before ever finding out any additional information.

Is what the OP stated impossible as so many stated? As jibi stated, we would be sheepish to believe that the BlackBerry is bulletproof secure. I think a lot of people need to knock the chip off their shoulder and remember the golden rule. Treat others the way you want to be treated.

IMO, the responses of this thread's OP (becoming defensive right off the bat), had a lot to do with how others responded to them. Contrast the OP here:

Big difference. JMO.

When I first saw this thread last night I thought it was a fluke and decided to ignore it. But after following the link above, I've realized that many people's reaction is consistently inappropriate. Now, I've been a blackberry enthusiast since it first came out, but sheesh! This is like a religion for some, don't you dare accuse my god of being imperfect! Any device can be hacked, any system can be hacked. I just can't believe how many people screamed 'impossible!' without asking any questions, or considering the length of the communication chain between a blackberry device and the final recipientxxx8217;s email account, and how many parts of that chain are outside of RIMs control. No, just chop the guy's head off for seeking help.

I would like to apologize to the BB Moderators, and the BBF members who were offended by this thread... The BB Moderators were very diplomatic IMHO considering the question that was asked and the responses given by the OP...

I was the one who got on him and while I know everyone here is capable of making their own decisions, I might have made it easier for some to post a reply because of my comments...

This thread spiraled from the ridiculous, to the twilight zone, to the gutter and back.. I am sorry but if you tell me the mothership landed and you were taken hostage by aliens and that the only witness to this is in the witness protection program, in fear for their life, or otherwise unable to speak then all 3 of my eyebrows get raised...

My user title says BBFAQ Moderator which gives the BBF Moderators a bad name when I upset someone... There is a reason they are BBF Moderators and I am not... They have people skills..... I am the type of person who is very blunt and speaks my mind... I have never been the hug and touchy, feally kind of person...

So BBF Moderators, I apologize for dragging your good moderator name down...

BBF Members who have been here a while know I am goofy and speak my mind.. Those who don't just figured it out... I apologize to all of you as well who had to suffer through this thread... I realize I should have let it go, rolled my eyes and lurked while laughing... I find that hard to do sometimes...

Bottom line.... I say what I feel and have always been considered very, very blunt... That is not an excuse not is it me trying to justify my actions... I take responsibility for my action...

You made me cry before I even finished my coffee this morning. That isn't right man. That isn't right...

You also threw off my humor post by interjecting sincerity into the thread before I could post my retort. You can be such a lunkhead sometimes...

Boy, there sure are a bunch of sensitive people out there.

Post number 6 asks for more info. Post number 11 give options as to what may have happened.

Nowhere does this person give any more info than a vague description of what happened.

IMO Lunkhead did not need to apologize and thicker skin needs to be grown by the people that are highly offended.

WOW

how did i miss all of this?

I must have been half if not fully asleep or comatose while browsing the forum.

I agree with jibi i am not foolish enough to believe RIM is 100% secure. They said Alcatraz was didn't they?

I would love to see some substantiative evidence of the said intercept. Just out of curiosity.

Off to do some research of my own (maybe)
