Exclamation New 8820 Release Date

Please Login to Remove!

I was told today, much to my disappointment, that the release date for the 8820 has been pushed back to around Sept 24th. Also, anyone know if it is going to be Black or Blue(like the 8800)?

How would they bit them?

We now have two threads stating the 24th and one for the 21st.

What's the over/under?

Default 8820 black?

The eval device I have is black. I expect it would be the same for wide release.

Damn it, I got my 8300 on August 21st from Cingular, but I might return it for the 8820 if there's no penalty.

Well, I just got it in Singapore. They launched it here in MobileOne about 4-5 days ago.
There is only one colour available: Black for the front and back; with silver accents on the side. Applications are similar to 8800 otherwise.

Take your 8300 back as soon as you can. I have owned 4 different one and everyone gets dust behind the screen. My 8800 never had problems like that!

OK, this is getting comical. AT&T revised launch date to Sept 20th.

I spoke with a manager of the ATT store near my home in Brooklyn and he said check in at the end of the week. No specific date. He said it very confident.

Default Launch Date - 09/16

I called AT&T to find out why I was not receiving my emails. It turned out to be a "Blackberry outage". I hope this isn't a normal occurrence at AT&T.

While I had the technician on the phone, I asked about the 8820. She said the launch date was set for 09/16 according to an email she received this morning . I'm seriously considering exchanging my Curve for it. The dust problem makes me doubt the quality of the Curves. Besides, the wi-fi on the 8820 would be cool!
