Need Chatting - MSN-Gtalk-Yahoo
Please Login to Remove!
Is there downloadables to chat on MSN, Gtalk, or Yahoo?
I've seen JiveTalk but before I spend the money is there any way to get onto these networks with separate scripts or something? I don't chat a lot on the phone, nor do I want too so if I had to have 3 separate programs it wouldn't bother me.
or do I just need to get JiveTalk?

You need to do the trial on JiveTalk.
Then you won't need to ask our opinion, you will know the answer!

Try ebuddy and JT, you can make that decision.
Really, why ask our opinion, then seemingly ignore it?

I didn't ignore it in any way I asked if it was that good, and then asked about something to compare it too. Just shopping the options, if they even exist.
I'm probably going to go with JT anyhow since it seems like everyone loves it and I don't feel like dealing with that Google Talk hack or whatever.

There are a lot of great options available: http://www.blackberryforums.com/afte...e-updated.html
I've been using Google Talk for a long time as a single app to access my MSN and Gmail contacts and have been very happy with it (although the setup for multi-IM is a little tricky).
JiveTalk seems to be the preferred solution for most people.

Wirelessly posted (8800: Mozilla/4.0 (compatible; MSIE 6.0; Windows NT 5.0) BlackBerry8310/4.2.2 Profile/MIDP-2.0 Configuration/CLDC-1.1 VendorID/102)
Its just that JT works with no glitches. That is the difference.

I do the whole gtalk setup too. It can be kind of tricky adding new contacts through it to MSN and AIM and you see peoples emails/screennames rather that whatever they set as their display name, but it works well enough for me. I'm cheap, so I can't convince myself to throw down money for something that I've had for free on the desktop for years.

Webmessenger would probably be a good free alternative to Google Talk.

Is webmessenger currently working?
For the past few weeks I was unable to connect via my Pearl, others were experiencing similar difficulties. I've recently replaced my Pearl for another and no longer have the application installed, anyone know if it's back up and running yet?

adri, i'm gettin' the same problem too...i don't know if it's 'cause i'm using a cdma 8130. whether there's a diff' using it from a gms device is beyond me...anyways, i've been using mig33 successfully for the last few weeks. check it out
i've also just upgraded my os to .97, so i'm goin' to give webmessenger another shot to see if that makes a diff'.
good luck :D
note : there's no sense in payin' for an app when there're a bunch of free alternatives.

JS is right, jivetalk is the way to go, they've got a 30 day free trial, give it a try. I've never regretted buying it.. and I never use the application ..

UNLESS of course your free app is not working, and there is NO free instant messaging app that comes close to comparison to JiveTalk.
Show me one.
I agree why pay if its free, but in this case that just does apply.

True, also those web IM clients use more bandwith, so if your not on a unlimited plan, you will eventually earn on it in the end

fortunately, i'm on an unlimited plan so the bandwidth won't be a problem.
...and sanders, i hear ya'...but mig33 has been working beatifully and i haven't the need to pay for an im app...even if they're only 20 bucks truth be told, i've never tried jivetalk so i have no idea what's so woot woot about it.

Just remove outdated app, download and install newest version, it's been working for quite some time now
