Default Media transfer 8100 Pearl

Please Login to Remove!

Hi - I see a fair few issues here with media sync-ing and transferring files from pc/Mac to bb. So.... I'm gonna add my bit, too!
When I go into the desktop manager, my pearl is recognised. When I click on 'media', I can see 'Media manager' and 'Blackberry media sync'. 'Media manager' is greyed out, always has been (despite my best efforts to install roxio, it flat refuses!). When I click on 'media sync' another box opens up which has recognised my device pin but then an error box opens that says 'blackberry media sync failed to connect to your blackberry device' - despite apparently being able to read the PIN, it can't do any more.

I'd be grateful for any suggestions - that don't involve re-installing, pulling the battery, re-booting (pc and bb), new cable, new phone, new pc, downloading software again - ok, let's just say I've tried a few options already!

And YES mass storage is enabled!!

Thanks

Ok, to answer my own question!

I had to use a 3rd party app I came across on demonoid to activate mass storage mode. Seems. Enabling it in the options menu just wasn't enough !?!?

The way I usually add media to my bb media card is to drag and drop it, once the bb is recognized as an external drive on the PC.

As I explained that wasn't an option as even with mass storage mode enabled in the menu it wasn't activating it.
