Default Blackberry Bold 9000 WIFI not working?

Please Login to Remove!

So I did not take the data plan on my blackberry ( yet ). Been using wifi to access the internet etc. Last night my battery was low but I did not charge it. The WIFI was on ( I don't really take it off ).

When I woke up this morning the battery was almost dead and the phone was d/c'ed from the network. So I put it to charge.

After charging I tried to access the internet via my phone but when I load the browser i get an error saying

"Unable to connect to the Internet, please try again later.

If the problem persists please contact your service provider"

I've pulled out the battery and let it sit for about a minute - that did not help.

I've tried setting a static IP.

I've rebooted my router and my modem...

I'm at a loss right now.. Any tips are appreciated. Thanks!

actually its not as obvious as it seems.
If wi-fi is activated before a battery pull, it is automatically active after and needs to be unchecked before it works again (from my experience).

erm, not sure bar another battery, then deleting and rescanning for the network.

that usually points to a router problem.
Did you remove the static IP and enable DCHP again?
Do you have MAC filtering enabled and the MAC address for the BB added?

Did that.. nothing..I'm at work now and connected to the wireless here..

But I still get the same error when I try to load the browser so I think we can eliminate my router at home being the problem and narrow it down to the phone?

An Update..

While "Connected" at work here to the router... i decided to to to options --> status...

Under IP address it says 0.0.0.0 .... So I am connected but.. I don't have an IP address? >.>

Is this a blackberry's way of saying limited or no connectivity? lol

hmm.
when you say "connected" you mean the router's name is at the top and the wi-fi icon is grey?

Yes this is what I man. Even When I go to Manage Connections, the router name is in green next to "Wi-Fi"

What I just noticed though is that even though it says connected, when I scan for networks, it comes up with 0 green bars. But it says connected....

The router is in my office..

I've battery pulled many times.

Exactly how do I reload the OS? Because I would think if I ran the "loader.exe" it would not have any updates to install

Please advise.

Ok. I figured it out..

I went to Options - Mobile Network and "Data Services" was off...

Don't know how that happened but putting it back on hooked me right back up.
