I have an 8100 with a 1 gig card, and am trying to get it to mount as a drive on my Mac, which is running OS 10.4.7. I see on another thread that people are doing it successfully (this forum won't let me post the link, but the title is "The 8100 and macs. ATTN:boy genius").

But no one is saying how. I have the phone successfully paired via Bluetooth, and I can occasionally manually transfer files using the Bluetooth utility on the Mac, but about half the time it says "device does not have the necessary services". And plus it's a lot of steps to send a single file.

Could someone post a step-by-step to get their 8100 to show up as a mounted drive?

Also, if anyone's syncing their 8100 with their Macs via any program or connection, please post that too.

a) Have you enabled disk use in your settings? It is under Options:Advanced:Media Card

b) I had a problem with mine not recognizing my SanDisk 512mb card. I ended up reformating the card to FAT instead of FAT32 and it worked fine.

As far as a guide to get it to work on your Mac, here it is:

1) Plug the USB cable into the phone and Mac.
2) As all things tend to work on Macs, It will pop up on the desktop.

This was all I had to do. Also note, you will receive an error message on your BB regarding USB power...etc... This RIMs backwards way of saying that you don't have the proper driver installed on your computer.
