Default DTG Premium and PDF to Go

Please Login to Remove!

I would be grateful for input on these apps, particularly PDF to Go. I tried the trial package and could never get PDF to Go to work. Every time I opened an email with a pdf, it used the built in BB viewer. Is there a way to open a pdf attachment to an email with PDF to Go? Can you save the pdf to your media card? What is the benefit of PDF to Go over the viewer that is included with the BB?

Also, I did not see any real benefit in the Premium version of DTG other than the ability to "create" a file, and you can work around that pretty easily as described elsewhere in this forum. Anyone find anything really useful in the Premium edition?

Thanks

spell check is only in premium, also pdf to go is only available for premium, which is why it probably doesn't open in pdf, when opening from an email.
from email -menu-save attachment, should save the pdf to whatever location you select

I downloaded the Premium version to use on the 30 day trial basis and could not get PDF to Go to work. Anyone else have a better experience?

PDF to Go rules. It is much better than the standard BB app for pdf files. If you receive a lot of pdf files I would recommend it.

How do you get it to work? I have re-downloaded the trial version, but I can't get it to open any pdfs. I save them to my memory card, but when I try to access the folder where they are saved by using PDF to Go, it says the folder is empty.

Any help would be appreciated.

Thanks

I hate to ask again, but I really could use some help here. When I receive an email with a pdf attachment, I open it (with BB viewer, seems to be the only way). Then I save the attachment to my media cart (save page...media card/Blackberry/documents/select here) and it will save the page being viewed (not the whole, multi-page attachment, just the page being viewed, but right now I would settle for a single page). I can view the page if I go to that folder in the "media" application, but when I try to access the folder with PDF to Go, it says "empty."

I really would be grateful for some advice on how to get this application to work...

Thanks

I'm on corp BES and have the same issue. I saved 2 PDF's to my media card documents file from the web. They open fine while browsing but won't open up when I navigate to them and try to open them. Says "unable to display file..."

I moved a pdf from my desktop to the media card and PDF to Go works fine. It looks to me like if you access your email through BES, then there is no way to save the pdf attachments so that PDF to Go can view them.

If anyone else can help with this issue I would be grateful. The only reason I would consider paying the fee for DTG Premium version would be to get the PDF to Go feature---and at this point it appears to be worthless.

Ok, when looking at an email....NOT an attachment.
can you click menu-save attachment?
this will then save the ENTIRE attachment (pdf doc) to whereever you choose.

if you cant click menu-save attachment on the email page, then i would say talk to your BES admin guys about your IT policy and see what they are/are not allowing.

No, that option is not available to me. I have "open attachment" but not "save attachment," so I will visit with our IT department.

Thanks

It must be the way your BES is set up. I can choose to open PDF's using the default viewer or PDF to Go and I am on BES.

I contacted my IT department and they must have done something because now I too can choose to open PDF's using the default viewer or PDF to Go.

Although, I still cannot save attachments to my media card. Can you do so?

I can save attachments from my email. Must be another IT setting for your BES.
