In the phillips mobile phone tools the option for multimedia studio is grayed out and it wont let me select it. I have to select a profile whenever i open the program then when it tries to find a phone i cancel it. I then go to menu --> Tools and multimedia studio is grayed out. Am i doing something wrong?

TIA

I'm not sure about what exactly you are doing wrong, but check this out and start over from scratch

PLEASE HELP!

Haven't been able to find help on ringtones for the 7520 (Nextel). I understand that it only accepts midi mono ringtones...but those I've downloaded and tried are extremely quiet...and I know that the 7520 can be much louder (i.e. speaker phone and some of the ringtones that come with the unit).

I've already got the unit maxed out at the loudest level.

Is there anyway to make the ringtones louder or find some that are really loud?

HELP and Thanks,
Rick

What if you just have songs from Itunes or your own personal CDS- Will those still work? (7100)

For louder MIDI ringtones, visit http://tones.jimvaughan.com with your BlackBerry. Also, visit http://davidenglish.com/wml/index.wml with your BlackBerry and choose "Non-Musical MIDI Ringtones."

Default So, I just tried this

and my media player says:

200: Application can not accept the content [audio/adpcm].

For those of us who'd like to use a different program to convert their tracks (I'm a linux guy; I use sox), could anyone comment on the desired target bits, samples/sec, and flavor of ADPCM?

Default Lost ringtones

I just spent an hour getting the computer beep and the warning sound from Lost:

(change the "dot" to a period and get rid of the spaces... i guess you have to post 10 times on this board to link to websites... stupid)

www dot pinktwelve dot com /lithboy/tmp/beep.adp
www dot pinktwelve dot com /lithboy/tmp/siren.adp

Enjoy!

Default I've read 35 pages...and now I post

I just got my 8700c...Very nice upgrade from my 7250.
Now, finally I can have cool songs/ringtones, vs...pong like .wav files that quite frankly, were just a bit embarrasing in this day of technology.

Now...since I'm really a ringtone newbie...I'm looking for the Ringtones for Dummies. Do I download them on my pc? Onto the BB directly?

I've searched a million sites, not sure if I should join something, or if there are a couple freebies that would work fine for me.

Not looking to have 100's on the BB, just a few with some personal ringtones set for a few people.

Anyone that can point me to a great Reply or post on this thread...I'm willing to read.

thanks!

Pa

Any suggestions on how to get MP3 files on a 8700c? I usually get sa 404 error while trying to download. Is there a file size limitation or compatibility issue?

you can use this site but the limit is 512kb. I recommend you shrinking the mp3 to a 30 second max then using this:

The file size needs to be below 200k and the bitrate should be 24Khz. The clip also should be under 20 secs.

If you are looking for a ringtone go to www.tuneusin.com If you have one that you would like converted and posted, you can send it to the link on the site.

Hope it helps.

I think the 7130 uses mp3, which needs to be either 32khz or 44khz. Try searching for "7130 mp3", as im not sure what the limitations are not having one myself.

Start by hitting up the search button for "mp3 ringtones" or "8700 ringtones" let me know if that finds your pot of gold.
