Default What should I do?

Please Login to Remove!

Okay folks so I took the plunge maybe 2 weeks ago to try out the Blackberry Storm with Verizon. I previously owned the World Edition in red and the thing I couldn't stand about the phone was the tiny red hard buttons the phone had. Also, I noticed the OS was a bit slow but not as bad as the Storm. It is to the point where I want to just toss this phone in the trash bin. No joke. I was contemplating on maybe getting the pink curve 8330 from Verizon. So my question is, should I stick with the Storm till the 30 days are over and switch to the curve 8330 or what?

I need advice pronto.

Thank you for reading..

I would get the latest OS for the Storm (probably a beta) and load that.. I've heard there really is a difference.

If the new OS doesn't do the trick then you might want to swap the phone, touch screens are not for everyone.

I can't upload any beta because it would void the warranty and I will never be able to swap the phone. So thats not a good idea..lol

If you don't like the Storm, why keep it to see if it grows on you? My guess is that it won't.

The other Verizon BB options, other than the 8330 and 9530, are the 8830 and 8130. Have you tried any of them out?

There is a supposed CDMA Bold coming out sometime soon (maybe) and the Storm II was recently announced as well. Might try holding out for one of those.

Just wondering who told you it would void the warranty. For years now I've been trying to find ONE PERSON who couldn't get service or support because a different version of the OS "voided the warranty".

I dont like touch screen. The phone pisses me off. Not cool. I miss the keyboard on the other blackberries and I think Im going to try out the curve in pink 8330. But isnt that phone outdated? That is whats holding me back.

Tech support from Verizon told me not to dare use any unofficial OS from the website unless its from Verizon themselves or RIM.

All OS's are from RIM.

That's really funny. From Verizon or RIM.
These are the same people who keep saying that the next OS for the Storm is "next week" or whatever GHamden says.

Send back the Storm. Get a pink Curve.

Funny how accustomed we've become to expecting a one year old device to be old hat. I've had the 8330 since it came out, went to a storm a few months back, then went back to the curve two weeks later. Still love the curve, it's still a fantastic device.

I'm just concerned about the curve 8330 OS. I need to be sold to exchange it. After that is done, I will have to wait another year or so to upgrade.

I love my Curve 8330...Its not the fastest or snappiest BlackBerry available - but on Verizon as of this moment - you don't have a whole lot of options. You could try holding out for the 9630, whenever that may arrive...

I tried to get used to a Storm, but I couldn't take it for more than a week at a time. I kept coming back to it, trying to like it, and simply couldn't. I need a physical keyboard. And less lag/better stability.

Bin it and get a Curve.

I can't help but think Verizon and RIM rushed the Storm out long before it was ready for prime time. They got caught up in the "catch the iPhone" hype when perhaps they should have given the device a better stress test. But then the new trend, not just by RIM, is to make consumers - early adopters - the beta testers. Perhaps that's just the new reality of the industry.
