Hey all-
I have a user with a 7100t who is showing one unread message, even though all messages have been read. He had the same problem on his old 7200 series as well. We have BES 3.6 for Exchange. Any ideas on how to fix this (a reset didn't help) or how to prevent it from happening in the future?

try selecting the date and clicking on mark prior read. if that doesn't work got to backup/restore -> advanced in the app loader and clear all the messages to see if that gets rid of it.

The backup/restore method worked, thanks! :D
Any other ideas on how to fix this without losing data from the Blackberry? I tried then restoring the messages database and the rouge message was back.
Also, anybody have any ideas on why this would happen?

My guess is that it was moved to a folder or reconiled wrong...
If you want to search for it, restore your messages so that the rogue message is back and click in your message list and go to view folders and/or uncheck hide filed messages. Then look for it within the folders or as a filed message.

Had this happen to one of my users as well.

It turned out she had saved 3 messages.

In messages, go to View Saved Messages. Most likely this person will have messages in there.

...and remember the shortcut. Press V in your regular message list to see saved messages.

it could be possible she had an unread item in deleted messages that hadn't been purged yet.

I have a 7750 and had the same problem for almost a week. Then I came across a list of tips and tricks here on the forum. One was a reboot command. After the reboot the extra unclearable message disappeared. And I didn't lose anything.
